i would say yes, but that's just me... kids that age should be more concerened with how much pizza and hamburgers they can eat then worrying about drinking protein shakes.

I don't see why it would be a bad thing. It is not like you are making him eat 3 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight which might stress the kidneys and such. A shake here or there should be fine. lomaximo

I see no problems giving him the extra protein. In general, small chidren don't get enough protein in my opinion. The RDA of 44g of protein is a joke. The extra protein should make him get stronger. In the long run, no health problems will arise from the extra protein if that's your worry. I would try to give him non-animal proteins though, due to the fact that animal proteins have been linked with early induced puberty. What health concerns come along with drinking protein shakes? It's food. Do we not let kids eat chicken? It's protein. Are there health concerns with that...especially when mom fries it up with the skin in oil? Kids need to eat healthier. Thats why 50% of this country is obese. Whey is just protein. It's food. It's not even a supplement like many think. It's food. Orange juice is nourishment in a liquad form yet nobody calls it a supplement. Start him out with healthy dietary habits and he will benifit for the rest of his life. [This message has been edited by Beezers (edited February 04, 2001).]

bro I would say that the protein shakes are a lot better source of protein than eating these animals which are injected gear we would not user ourselves! there is no problem, in fact i let all my kids drink them before their games and/or practices!

Never to young for simple exercise and protein. ------------------

For the question, I would do it. I just got some CFM Whey Isolate from proteinfactory.com. I mix it with Dole Orange Strawberry Banana juice. It's great stuff, can barely tell the difference after adding the protein. Sure he would like it. It was about $40 for 5 lbs.

A shake here and there not a bad thing. Just wait another year till you start feeding him d-bol and pumping him full of test Mass Monster

Man I thought the same thing Captain Anabolic. I thought somebody was asking what to take and how much at 10 year old. And your son will be fine taking Protein shakes. It might help him alot. ----------------------- Names Ash.....Housewares

hell yeah I would give him protein, not too much though. Throw in some healthy fats and a mild multi vitamin as well. i wish I would have had better nutrition as a kid. But in the end, make sure he wants to do it. Not telling you how to raise your kid, but I wouldn't force this stuff on your kid unless he wants to. It would be cool as hell though if he liked it, bet he'll make some great gains. Hope when I have a kid, hopefully a boy HEHEHE, he'll be into training and nutrition. Good luck

Yeah I would give him a small protein-carb drink in the morning---Let him basicly what he wants during the day and before he hits the sack- a small protein drink-no more then 20 grams---When the kid hits high school he will be thanking you---Pushups-situps-pullups shit like that --no more then 1/2 hour at a time and no more then 3 days a week--teach him strict form and mind control-So what ever he wants to do when he gets older --he will be that much more ahead of the game. |
