Just been shopping and I popped into my local Holland & Barrett (UK - similar to GNC). This skinny kid was there by the the bodybuilding supplements and was asking the sales woman for recommendations to help him put some size on. He was holdind a tub of their own brand 90% protein and asked her what time of day would he be best to take it. The woman who obviously didn't have a clue told him to take it right before he trains.
I stood there with a shocked look on my face and wanted to shout out WTF? but I kept my composure. She then asked me if I needed any advice and I replied in a sarchastic voice "Er... no thanks!" I couldn't believe that somebody could have a job there with so little knowledge of the most basic of supplements. If she didn't know that he would benefeit more from taking it afterwards then why didn't she just say she was unsure? I mean don't these people even recieve basic training?
Any way it got me to thinking about all the bad advice I used to get from people who thought they knew it all, when I started out like being advised to do high rep cable crossover for triple drop sets to put size on my chest and worst of all that steroids are bad for me!hehe
What's the worst or funniest advice you bros got when you first lifted iron?

Squats are dangerous and deadlifts are only for powerlifters and don't do much for you.

Leg weights while running are the best way to grow leg mass.

Andro.

and then all kinds of the wrong stuff about rest, reps, and nutrition.
