I created the handle because I don't want this bad experience to contaminate my usual positive interactions here. I have all the emails from the guy and can certainly document the way he jerked me around. I'm cutting my losses but I thought I'd do a few other people a favor.

A mod on another board has asked me to hold off identifying him until he makes an inquiry. I want to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, though frankly it seems crazy at this point. Unless something develops in the next 24 hours, I'll send everyone his ID tomorrow.

If you are genuinely ignorant enough to think, as you suggested in another post, Stew, that I made this announcement in order to feel "special" and garner email, I can see it was EXTREMELY STUPID OF ME to bring this up at all. What is your problem?

Here is the situation: I ordered some gear from a supplier who is not on any of the approved lists but was recommended by reliable people. Two weeks after the outside date he gave me for its arrival, it has not arrived. Because of my situation, this basically delays my cycle six months even if he delivers now. He has changed his story about this several times. Perhaps this is not scamming but business as usual by your definition. I don't know.

I have since heard from the person with new promises. You tell me. Should I give people his name or should I continue to wait? I would like to think he'll deliver. I'd also like to think he'll tell people his actual situation with regard to inventory.

If the most approrpriate thing is for me to delete this string, just tell me, or have a mod do it.

The odd thing is that by trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt I'm committing his own offense: not delivering the name when I said I would. Mea culpa. Sue me. What would you do?

Do what? I don't even mail order and I know that's a crock of shit. My supplier gets his through the mail and he ALWAYS has to send $$ first.

It sounds like the guy really did scam you. Post his name dam it! If one of the mods feels that the guy is legit and shouldn't be posted then he'll delete it. But it sounds to me like you've been SCAMMED!

My point was... if you don't know if you've been scammed or not, don't post saying you did. You deserve a flame IMO for coming on this board with your first post and saying you got scammed but you want give out the name because you don't know if you got scammed or not.
