YES! I had the same thing and glucosamine took it away in 3 days. Chondroitin is necessary as well. The combo will fix the pain. If not, try a little advil. It masks the pain but does not fix it.

Man... Am I glad that you asked this question! My right elbow has been hurting for a while now. I've tried everything from taking a week off to heat/cold and wrapping the joint during workouts and nothing works. I finally started taking the glucosamine & chondroitin complex (only 2 days now) with the hope that it will help the pain. This is my last effort before seeing a doc. 3 days helped you??? I hope it works that quick for me! I thought maybe the connective tissue does not respond like the muscle does so that it gets damaged earlier. Bump for more reply's ------------------

The bigger we get, the more weight we push. The more gear we are on, the less we feel pain, the stronger we are and the more weight we can push. One thing that I do to avoid injuries like that, is pre exhaust my muscles before I to a compound movement. For example, I would do pec-dec or flyes strict and slow for a few sets before I hit the flat bench. I get the same workout, same pump, but I use a lot less weight, translating to less injuries. I dont think our connective tissues and joints are meant to take that much pressure ALL the time.

My left elbow hurts bad, and my knees, and my back It does when I go too heavy for too long. The glucosamine and chrondoitin has seemed to help mine after only 3/4 days I thought it was just in my mind since it is suppossed to take weeks to help. Anyway, what scubasteve said does help, and so does not lifting in the 3-6 range very much. When I feel it starting to hurt now, I back off for a few weeks.

I'll keep taking the glu/cho combo for a while and see what happens. I can't lay off for 3-6 weeks though! Too much invested at this point. I'll just have to keep the weight low and the reps high since I'm cutting up now anyway. ------------------

Kingpin, I didn't say don't lift for 3-6 wks, I meant go higher reps 8-12 or 15 for awhile to take a load off the joints.

if it hurts dont do it. number 1 rule. there is a definate difference between muscle soreness and a real problem. some deca might help out. my advice would be to not aggrevate it. r.i.c.e. .(rest, ice, compression, elevation) cortisone is always an option but to be used at a last resort.

I've been hurting in my forearms and elbows for 9 months with no relief so bad that I had to take off training 6 weeks still no better until I got prayed for at church the other night. I will start taking Enjoint G-C from GNC since I already bought it. I credit the healing to JESUS.

Both my elbows hurt especially when doing any kind of heavy triceps exercises. I just warm them up real good with light weights and high reps before I hit them with the heavy weights. I take glucosamine/chondroitin everyday and it seems to help a little but the pain is always there to some extent. |
