I did an injection of 3ml sust into my left cheek and felt relatively no pain, wasn't too swollen, but my left lower back - right at the base of my spine - what you flex when you do good mornings - was killing. it was tight and was hurting. That was a week or two ago, still a bit sore. I figured I must have hurt it lifting but couldn't place when - and it seemed to be related to the injection but I thought that weird. what the hell? am I hitting a nerve or something. it pisses me off b/c it is affecting my squats on leg days and I always feel like an old man hobbling about. anyone? ------------------

When i do test, I often get a lot of lower back pain. I think it is caused by water retention. I'm not sure if this is what you're talking about or not, but I seriously doubt you struck your sciatic nerve. The sciatic is very deep and runs don the inner thigh. If you'd injured the sciatic, you'd feel a sharp pain down your leg, too. By the way, where do you train in Boston. I'm in Cambridge myself.

Sust used to give me great welting pain so I shoot it in my leg. I have a new sust now in the yellow letterd ampule and very little pain. You could have some swelling you do have muscles that connect to you lumbar and even the fused bones of the lower spine the name has left me at the moment.. but anyhow if you shoot real deep you could be getting it to those deep muscle psoas..etc.The swelling would move your spine in one direction then give you middle back pain becase the body compensates up the vertebrae column. So other than another site for injection ,sounds like your pretty much stuck. You may want to ice it for swelling then perhaps heat for circulation the cool it down again.

Thanks for the help guys. After sleeping on it, it seems okay, but the real test will be legs tomorrow. latona - I live in Cambridge, and work in Waltham. I work out while I'm at work out in Waltham, but I might be switching jobs in the next month or so - we shall see. there was some lying about when we are starting java crap here at work and I want to get out and do java - if that is the case, I will need a new gym - which is a shame, I'll miss the one I was at. I still have a month or two that I will stay at work to see what happens, then I'm outta there if there aren't changes. it's a shame b/c they were cool there about me working out - I could leave at 2 or so, go workout for just over an hour and then come back and work more and they were fine with it. ------------------

Cambridge, eh? I guess there are more gearheads in our fair city than I thought. Sorry to hear about the job woes, but I'm sure that with solid programming skills (esp. Java), you won't have difficulty finding another one. There are no good gyms in Cambrige anymore. I go to World Gym at Assembly Sq. It's a bit of a trek to get there, and the gym is pretty grimy, but they have decent weights and if you can avoid rush hour, it's practically empty. I have a friend who works out at SuperFitness in Watertown (by the Arsenal Mall) so I might go there. |
