What do you guys think would be the best type of workout for an ectomorph. I'm 6' 165 lbs. Getting ready to do my first deca/dbol cycle. I've heard to do low reps in the new Arnold book and don't rest much in between sets? What do you guys think.....By the way I started at 140 and got to 165 naturally...so I'm ready I'm also 21....so I would appreciate any input...

You have a similar build to mine before I juiced. I do best on low reps (I shoot for failure on 5!), low sets (for example, on juice, 8 sets for chest, not on juice, 6 sets). Always go to failure except on warm-up sets. Very little rest between sets. Simple and quick, but intensity! Also flex the muscles between sets, as dumb as that sounds. Also obviouisly eat as much as you can. With your motabolism, don't worry too much about eating "right" when on juice, go out and inhale those Big Macs!!

Focus on these lifts: Squat, Deadlift, Bench Bress, Chins, and Military. Check out the powerlifting board, and look up G-Forces routines-they're great. Also check out Testosterone.net and look up workouts by Ian King-a little complicated at times, but effective. I feel for you bro, I started at 5'11"-145lbs, I am now 220lbs. Make sure you eat alot too. I eat about 20-30%fat, 40% carbs, and 30-40% protein. Have a big ass post workout drink too-tones of protien and hight glycemic carbs. On a side note: Low reps and short rest sucks, for me anyways. Lower reps are more neural, and hit fast twitch fibers, your short rest periods won't allow them to recover adequately for your next set. At least that's how I am. The low reps, compound movements are the best mass builders for me. On the compound movements, which I use as my heavy working sets, I like taking a longer rest. When I get more to the isolation movements, I shorten my rest up. I have been making great gains off this, and I am currently off cycle. You may even want to try compository acceleration for putting on some mass, it works. Pile on the pl8s, and always go heavy, growth will be on its way!
