I ordered $500 worth of gear from an international source about a month ago. Lukily I had it sent to a friends house who had nothing to do with the order. About 7:30 last night a man came up to my friends door and he had 2 packages in his hands. he stated " i live in the(apartment)complex and i got these packages in the mail and they are to your adress, are these yours?". my friend looked at the packages and said "that is my adress but not my name there must be some mistake because that isn't my name on the package" then the guy said" go ahead and take them to the office then". and my friend agreed!! About 30 min later, the damn customs and dea busted his door down. threw him to make a long story short my friend and his roomate went to jail for the night and got charged with marijuana possesion for having 1 joint, but not for the packages! i don't blame the international source, i just want this to be a warning to all the brothers doing business that this isn't a game and uncle sam means business.

i tell you what is bullshit, is you sending it to your buddies place! now thanks to you, he's going to have a misdemeanor on his record, and plus he got to spend the night in jail! also his place gets destroyed ontop of that! if your going to use gear at least be responsible enough to take full responsibilities for any consequences! ------------------

I agree Freakdaddy. You're such a GODDAMN idiot for doing that to your friend. You're stupid enough for ordering gear from overseas, but to do that to your friend is F-ING inexcusable!!!

If this actually really happened then there is no legal ground to keep your "friend" in jail for the joint. Any lawyer will get this thrown out of court...and there is grounds for a civil action against the state. If the search warrent was for gear then he could not have had the joint seized and used as evidence. Also, why did they break in without having him sign for it? You story sounds very fishy.

What if the guy had priors? Would that be an excuse for storm troopers behaviour?

Sorry bro...........but I find this very hard to believe. That the DEA and Custom's agents have nothing better to do than bust down doors over a mere $500 dollars worth of gear??? That's not even enough to pay for the gas money to get there! ------------------

2Thick. You are right about one thing and wrong about the other. A lawyer will get any charge relating to AS in this case thrown out. But you are wrong about the joint. I am not a lawyer but I clearly remember from my CJ classes that if police have a warrant to search for evidence relating to one alleged crime and they see evidence of something else illegal in "plain view" then they can arrest you for it. But, if they tore the house apart looking for AS and found a joint hidden away some where then they can't prosecute for possession.

I wouldn't believe it either except that he said someone came and told him it was delivered to the wrong apt. If this was true and they opened it, they would have called the police who may at that point have called the DEA. In this case no matter what the amount they would have to respond. ------------------

don't be so sure his story isn't true,a buddy i grew up with dealt meth for a while and had his house raided a couple of times on bs search warants, he had to pay his lawyer 10 grand to get the warrant thrown out plus bail money and had to submit to ua's while his case was pending a judge will issue a warrant on pretty flimsy evidence

I have not legal training, but have been locked up several times. And I know for a fact that when they are searching for something with a warrent, and find another crime it can be admitted and charges can be brought up. If they were looking for an elephant and found a mouse, this could not be used, due to they searched in a place that could not posses what they were looking for. In this case they were looking for AS and this could be hid anywere, thus they can look anywere. Now as for the truth of this story????? But I think it is possible. ------------------ "Obsession is passion. Use it. Make it your strength." -by Puc

You are correct about them finding other stuff while investigating a search warrant.. it is admissable in court...and also correct about them not being able to use evidence found in places that wouldn't be able to hide what they are searching for in the original warrant...in this case gear could be hidden just about anywhere so, anything they found is fair game...it is the inital issuing of the warrant in this case which is very questionable

something just does not seem right about this story.he said he ordered a month ago and already they set up a sting.this seems a little too fast for that type of operation.it cost them too much time and money to bother unless he had prior custom letters and continued to ignore them and they decided to persue.i feel there is something missing in this story.and why would his friend allow a illegal package to be sent to his house that was not even his.you need to give more details on this story because it doesnt seem to add up

quote: OK. Read this slowly: His friend KNEW what was going on and he had a joint in his apartment. He's not exactly innocent either. People like you (who are quick to judge) tend to really piss me off. You need to step back and evaluate yourself before you go judging anyone else brother. |
