What gauge (needle thickness) is best for intramuscular injections. I can get 20 gauge 1 1/2" pins from a vet supply store. Will these work? Thanks in advance.    | ||

22"-25" seems to be the norm. 20"ers will most likely give you scar tissue and a lot of pain. | ||

Typical gauges range anywhere from 21" - 25" depending on where you intend to inject. A 20" will probably feel like you are trying to stick a pencil in yourself. Most guys use 22's or 23's. Again it depends on the injection site. You can use larger pins in your ass but sticking one of those large pins (20" 21" or 22") in your delts or quads will probably be an experience you will never forget. Of course, the smaller the pin the longer it takes to pass the juice. |
