Ok, lets say someone starts a cycle at 200lbs 10% bodyfat. This person ends his cycle and after the water retention has gone he is at 220lbs at the same 10% bodyfat. Am I right in thinking that if the bodyfat percentage stays the same then 10 of those 20lbs gained are fat and the other 10 muscle? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

No you are not correct ![]() In this case you have gained 18lbs of muscle and 2lbs of fat. Lean body mass at 200lbs 10% = 180lbs ![]() ![]() ![]()

No, look at it this way. 10% bf @ 200= 20 lbs of fat. 10% @ 220= 22 lbs of fat. To change the percentage of bf, you have to gain a different proportion of fat/muscle. Take this example, if you gain 20 total lbs and 2 lbs of fat, then 10% of your gains are fat, so you stay the same. You would have to gain more or less than 10% of your gains from fat for your bf to change. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
