HI Dexter, in reply to your earlier post in El Cubano's thread regarding Lebanon, if you e.mail me I'll send you more info and a few picture's from here. I know what you mean about Beirut in 1983, I was here in 1988 when the war was still pretty intense in Beirut. The first time I was in Beirut during this mission I went 'sight seeing' and it amazing the difference in the city. The docks area is still very badly damaged but the rest of the city is brand new almost. I'm based in the south of the country on the Isreali/Lebanese border with the UN. Where were you based in Beirut ?, if you want any info or pix from the area just let me know in an e.mail. If you remember the US gereral who was kid napped and hung in Lebanon, well the village his body was found in is in our area of operations (A/O).
