Once and for all, does novla cut into the lean mass you would have gained on a cycle if you hadn't taken it.. Im doing a sust/eq cycle and planned on taking 1 nolva ed to keep the excess water off.. is this a bad idea?

Both responces are absolutely correct, here is why..... The nolva kills some of the water gains. The water retention adds to the amount of weight you are able to lift. The more you lift, the more your muscles are forced to respond, triggering more growth. I hate to see alot of guys stateing that they want to cycle and gain alot of mass but want to keep water retention low, especially in the offseason. The acceptance of the water will help you alot more than trying to gain while staying lean all of the time. Just my opinion though and I could be wrong.

Fast Eddie is mostly right. Nolva will reduce water retention from the androgens which will decrease the amount of weight gained. Thus, it appears to hinder gains. The increased water retention will allow you to lift heavier due to the increased leverage from the bloat. So it all depends on your goals. It affects your overall muscle gains very little. I only use it when needed because I like the extra size and strength when bulking. I'll loose the water when I cut anyway. ghans

So can you use Nolva in the middle of a cycle, just to reduce bloat a little for a week or so? Then when you stop using it, let the water retention return to continue benefiting from its effects. My reason for this is that I have a couple of realy important job interviews right in the middle of my upcoming bulking cycle, and would probably feel a little more confident without the bloat. Does this seem a good idea or is it not worth the hassle for a minimal reduction? FatRat

Hehehe...I didn't want to start yesterday, but today I'm in a better mood. Nolvadex not only hurts gains through indirect mechanism of water retention equal greater ability to lift heavier weight. Nolvadex also decreases serum IGF-1 level wich effects gains pretty bad. If you want to prevent water retention or gyno, stick with Arimidex and saw palmetto combo, and if you can't afford use Nolvadex only if absolutely nessesery.

That's a piece I copied from Iron_Game's post "Testosteron",just a little above this one on the same page. The source of information is unknown to me,you will have to ask Iron_Game. -------------------------------------------- "Nolvadex: This drug is a very effective estrogen antagonist. However, nolvadex will decrease serum IGF-1 levels, making steroid cycles less effective. This drug should only be needed in situations where abnormally large amounts of androgens are being used." |
