So what happens in a guy's mind that he wants to take the steps encessary to be able to compete in today's Olympia? To abuse your body at those extremes? Is it money? Hell, the top guys make at most, what -- several hundred grand a year? There are hundreds of mid-twenty-something year olds on Wall Street making that, and they aren't walking toxic factories either. Is it for the chicks? I don't know the actual stats, but I bet the "male model" guys get more chicks than the Mr. Olympia guy. Is it some kind of mental disease where they have to be the biggest? Or they have no concept of mortality? I mean -- I just read on a recent post that one pro siad he was glad his pancreas shut down from all the insulin he was taking because now he couls get it prescribed from his doc??! I love seeing those guys get freakier every year, but I always wonder what must float in their brains to make them go to that level...     | ||

Very simple: The same reason track star's try to run faster, jump higer,ect... Elite athletes have one thing on there mind, They want to be the best. Not number 2 number 1... When i walk into my gym i want to be in the best shape, and bigger and stronger than everyone else. I want to turn heads. Its just like any other sport. | ||

Stalker, I have to believe it is a combo of Lifestyle, Money, Sex and Competetiveness. True the money at the top isn't even that great especially considering your pharmaceutical bill but think of the "coverage" and all the money that can lead to. Let's face it these guys and gals end up having to do some real shitty stuff until they get there like private posing, turning tricks etc. It never ceases to amaze me what some of these guys end up doing. I have heard that Tom Prince and Justin Brooks are in the Colt2001 Calendar (total frontal nudity). Rip Colt and his organization have been producing gay and/or gay themed merchandise for ages and have attracted "many" competetive bodybuilders. Its kinda crazy like you say. I guess it all depends on what an individual needs to get from it. | ||

Since I just recently got into the ture sport of Body building competition, I believe that you want to see how far you can go, what your limits are.. AND THEN BREAK THEM OFF AND EAT THEM BY THE FUCKING HEAD. yep thats it, we all want to be number 1 and with that as our goal nothing else matters.! ------------------ If You Can't Be Bigger, Be Better Looking! |
