OK, I am currently in my 3rd month of Accutane, and it's working great!! But here's the deal. My doctor tells me that I will never get ance again after I'm done with it. But will I get acne when I do steroids? I know this causes alot of hormones to go way up beyond the usual, so do you think I'll get acne ever again? Any comments...thanks. ------------------     | ||

Not only is Accutane more dangerous than roids in my opinion, if you think about it, steroids essentially work to reverse everything that accutane does. I would honestly tell you doctor you're going to take some steroids, and see what he says. Of course he'll dissapprove, but you can get a general idea if the two are compatible or not. Don't ever mix two drugs without research bro. You never know what two chemicals mixing in your body can cause, especially when they tend to butt heads bro. | ||

Accutane is not a permanent drug, my doc told me it was, but I had to take 2 cycles and my bro is on his 4TH!!!!, so for most it is permanent, but about 30% get acne after accutane, just not as bad. You will probably see some mild acne while on juice, but I doubt anything serious. ------------------ | ||

I almost got on accutane about 7 years ago when I was a freshman in high school I had zits bad I got on an antifungal antioxidant pill called Bactrum, and it cleared right up I'm warning you now, if you "abuse" antibiotics to cure your acne, as in 3 months or more continious use, you're going to be in trouble when you catch colds. At first, it was due to infection, so I used antibotics. Cured. It came back in a different form, more in fungal kind of infection. Bactrum did the trick and it's not really an immune system abusing drug Ask your doc about that I liked to go to the tanning bed about once a week to clear myself up too. Change your diet to NO greasy foods and drink only lightly acidic fruit juices, tea and water. Gatorade is good too. Drink plenty of water to flush your system. Get Vasoline brand Dermasil lotion, this stuff rocks and you'll never have dry skin again, which you'll likely suffer from with acne in general, and especially accutane. Accutane is about as bad as prednisone in my opinion. It's nasty shit, and I forget exactly what BAD side effect it had, maybe it was like liver impairment or somthin(far worse than light dosages of juice) that totally steered me away from it. Apply the lotion liberally and use it whenever. It's not expensive, and it's not an acne treatment lotion, but if you have smooth skin with proper moisture balance, this will help fight acne too. Also don't let your metabolism get out of whack, and be laid back and don't stress, although SOME stress is healthly. Don't skip meals, and whatever you do DON'T eat junk food. I don't care what doctors say in fighting acne, but food DOES have an affect on complexion to an extent. Eat chocolate and pizza and deep fried foods alot and wham, greasy nasty zitty skin Eat fruit, drink a shitload of water, and take in your protein like you should. Also go kind of easy on the carbs. I hope this all helps and I sure wish someone had told me all this when I was young. Not assuming you're young, but I was at least lucky in that I knew enuff about Accutane to NOT take it. OK, first of all I would never combine accutane and roids at the SAME time. But I am going to start another cycle of juice when I'm off. Also about it reaking havoc on the liver...well not on me. I have to get a blood test done every month for my liver etc. So I asked specifically about my liver last week when I went in, and he said my liver was doing very great, and that there was no problem at all. If there is a liver problem with the accutane, then the doc will take you right off. I have a few buddies that did it, and they have been off for about 6 months to a year and all I can say is DAMN!!! They have the smoothest looking face I have ever seen...seriously. And that's why I decided to give it a try. I have noticed some depression while on it, but I think that's just because me and my girl are having some problems, nothing serious though. Also most people get REALLY dried up flaky faces while on it, not me. Just use Nivea body lotion every day after you shower all over body and face, and at night I just put it on my face. But you HAVE to have chapstick with you always, this is a must. The best shit I use is the chapstick medicated that comes in the blue circle can. Anyways, I have been on 3 months, and so far so good. If you do it with your doctors consent, and you go in to him every 3 months. Then you have NOTHING to worry about. He will take you off of it if something is wrong. Abuse this shit without a doctors consent, then you might be screwing yourself up. Oh, another side effect that happens every once in a while is nose bleeds, but only at night. If you put neosporin in it at night, then you will have no problem. It just get's dried out up there. If there are any more questions...feel free to ask. Later. ------------------ | ||

You guys are terrible, giving advice like accutane is more dangerous than steroids and never use it with gear. I and many others have done so (with the blood tests to prove) on heavy cycle with absolutely no problems. Sides? dry skin (a relief to a usually greasy when on AS skin). What if I told you a certain someones doctor is prescibing him gear AND accutane concurrently - and is a well respected doctor at that - as well as well known. This kind of advice without direct knowledge is a serious fault of this board - people actually take what some people say as fact when it is sometimes 100% false. I wouldn't think you would get acne with or without gear. If the oil glands aren't there anymore steroids aren't going to make them appear. I am on cyp/deca/oxandrolone AND accutane. They are all prescribed by the same doctor. There is no reason not to take accutane while cycling as long as you're not abusing your liver with dbol, anadrol, etc. ------------------ | ||

saleenpimp - why do you say NO greasy foods...everybody know greasy foods causing acne is an old myth...just like they used to say no chocolate..oh yeah back to the ques. you will get a little acne but nothing severe ------------------ | ||

Ok, whenever I was a sophmore in highschool, i took accutane from about august to jan. I had horrible acne. It was like my face was one big oil and grease ball. My whole head was a huge zit. The pills I had were yellow and red. I cant remember wich ones were the higher strength. I would take one of the low strength a day for a month, then 2 of the low strength a month, then a low strength and a high strength, ect ect. Well, that was like 6 years ago. I had no body acne. Just on my face. It made my back really sore for a long time. Me knees also hurt and I was in bad moods most of the time. But I just got done doing a cycle of 500sust a week for 8 weeks and I got some acne on my back. But none on my face whatsoever. I dunno, just thought i would through my input in here. I found it helped out to wash my shoulders and back about 3 or 4 times a day. It started clearing up almost instantly after that. Before I tried accutane, i tried bactrum, menocycline (sp), and like 5 other antibiotics. Accutane worked wonders for me. Only thing was I spent like a million dollars on chapstick. My face turned into a big crack. Everytime i would eat my face was sooooo dry it would literally crack. my lips bled all the time. OH well, everything is good now, im 1 month out of my cycle and my little acne on my back is completely gone. Just thought i would throw my 2 cents in there. ------------------ |
