Went to the gym today to train legs. I have been doing legs at low reps, heavy weight, ass to the floor squats, and heavy low rep leg press. I haven't been seeing much growth as hard as I have been working them. Then I talked to a guy who said he had great growth by switching to high reps and lighter weight. So instead of doing 315 for 6 reps, i did 135 for 30 reps and 6 sets. Then I did leg press with only 4 plates on each side and did 25 reps for 5 sets. By then my legs and ass burned so bad and were so tight, I couldn't hardly walk out. My stomach was turning hard.
I feel like I might get some good growth if I continue this for about 6 weeks and then go back to heavy and change it up occasionally. Anyone have any thoughts on training legs at high vs. low reps?

well a fellow bro told me that when i do squats i should use a weight that i can only do then reps with.....but then go for 20. at like 15 you are ready to die and at...if you reach 20 then i doubt youll be able to do anything after that. i did that and saw results the first time i did it. id give that a try. but you have to make sure its a weight that you can only do ten reps. and then go for 20. you should almost die at 18.

when doing the 20 rep thing I pause and take a few short breaths at the top on the last 7 reps or so. Make sure you have a spotter though.

Today a did quads and started with heavy front squats and used the hack and smith machines for the higher reps. felt pretty good.

Gotta mix it up every once in a while. Do lower weight/higher reps for about 4-6 weeks and switch it up.

I stagnate if I don't switch it around.

Personally,I don't do anything below 15 reps for legs. Whether it be squats, leg press,or hacks and my legs have blew up!! I've also seen better shape and definition because I can squeeze my quads better.-THE PROTOTYPE
