Ok. This is sooo weird. I've been lifting for four years already, has tried everything: heavy weights-low reps, low weights-high reps, HIT, periodization, training 6 days a week, training 1 day a week. In other words I've tried everything, and I'm not growing like I think I should. I'm 19 right now, and when I look at a picture of Arnold when he was 19, I just get very upset, because I,at this age, am not even close to his size. My weight is only 190 lbs and my arms are only 15". Of course I've gained some since I started, because when I was 15, my arms were 11.5", and my weight was 140 lbs. Well, anyway, I'm getting really frustrated with this crap, and thinking about using steroids. in a couple of months. Do you think I should? I don't feel good about it, but if this is the only way to become big, I'll do it.

First your not arnold, so don't compare yourself to him. Set your own goals, and take baby steps to get there. 2nd how is your nutrition? How much rest do you get? Do you allow enough time for your Muscles to heal between workouts. I would explore all your options before you decided to take A.S. Your still young, and you can get a lot bigger without A.S. If you do decide to cross over, then do your homework, and see what would work best for you.

The most common mistake is overtraining. Logic says if I am not growing, I need to lift more weight more often. Wrong. Much better to let your muscles heal. I always feel the sorest two days after my workout. Say I worked on chest and triceps on Monday. I feel the worst on Wednesday and I always give myself another day of rest before hitting them again on Friday. Legs respond better with even more rest!!! Eat more, lift a little less often. See if that helps. Good luck, little bro.

there is a difference between not growing like you think you should and not growing at all . Sounds like you are making good consistant progress ,i mean 40lbs in 4 years isnt bad . Eat right , rest plenty , train smart . Save the drugs for when your older ( if at all ) . ------------------

without juice someone like you can only hope to be about 195 with low body fat. I assume right now your body fat isnt to low since you think you look bad. Fasct is if you had low body fat percent at 190 you'd look pretty dam good and would be pretty satisfied ot be in such condition at 19.

bro once youve been around this game for 20 years or so you realize many things. One is not many are physically mature until there early-mid 20s. Also 190 at 19 years is pretty good. Genetics play a huge role in everything. Dont compare yourself to football players, bodybuilders or pro wrestlers. Most of them are genetic freaks+years and years of drugs. DDo the best you can and remember its not lifting that makes you grow, its the food. EATEATEAT and try and get stronger, eventually youll grow.

food is most likely the culprit as well as possible overtraining. however that being said- genetics are a big factor you were at 140 now 190 30% increase in total mass is probably more like a 50% or more increase in muscle mass- not shabby ------------------

When I feel like im not growing like I should, I examine alot of factors like everyone said. Am I eating enough? How much am I training? Do I get enough sleep everynight? I just recently cut back some on training and started getting atleast 9 or more hours of sleep everynight. I wake up feeling like a new man and it really helps alot.

comparing yourself to Arnold will not help your selfesteem any, and remember, Arnold Juiced up a storm to obtain that body. As for why your not growing, your at a platuea, over the past 4 or 5 years, I would put on like 10 pounds a year. I was stuck at 185-190 for an entire year. I was doing everything right, eating good, getting sleep, and trying all different types of training techniques, I just wasn't growing, and I was 19 by the way. It was so fucking frustrating working out 4 days a week and not making any gains, I wasn't sure about juicing, but after learning how to safely take them and get quality gains, I decided to do it. I assume your taking creatine and glutamine and all that other stuff, I sure as hell did. My suggestion would be to hang around to board, hear stories of everyone else and their cycles, right now you have that bad stereotype of roids burned in your mind. Some bros come on here and want to juice right away after working out for 2 weeks naturally, they should not juice, but from what you have said, my advise would be to take the extra step, BUT NOT UNTIL YOU LEARN EVERYTHING!!!!! shit, I was on this board for 6 months learning before I decided to do it.
