You consume so much protein in one sitting? Like 2 big steaks and 5 protein shakes, well over 500 grams at once or lets say 1000 grams at once? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

This is only a guess but you would probably shit yourself and waste alot of the protien because your body could not even come close to absorbing all of it at one sitting ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

your body can not take all of that at one time i think the most a body can take down in 2 hours is around 40 grams of pro..later _____________________________________________ [This message has been edited by ultragainz (edited January 24, 2001).] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

you could try some digestive enzymes... Might triple the amount you could digest but whats the use? Your body can't actually use that much in one shot! Realistically you wouldn't be able to use more that 30g-50g/hr even on juice and being really sore... Adding lots of carbs would help.... Maybe! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Obviously your body cannot use all that at once. However, I have been taking in a larger amount of protein after training and I can see the benefits. I drink a shake with 80 grams protein and have a meal with about 75 grams protein an hour after that. I'm sure I'm still not using it all, but I believe that right after training your body can absorb alot more. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Yeah I know it's crazy and pointless I was actually curious to the health hazards of 1000 grams of protein in one sitting? I guess lions eat like 20 pounds of zebra in a sitting so can't be to bad. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I read a really interesting article that someone posted on a board, maybe the elite board. It was about the consumption of something like 60-80% of your daily protein in one meal and then spreading out the remaining 20-40% throughout the rest of the day. This study was done on women in various age groups. The older women actually retained or gained more muscle by using this meathod but the younger study groups did not see any benefit. This test has not been perfomed on male athletes so it is useless to us but it does bring up some interesting points to think about. I wouldn't suggest using this plan for bodybuilding but I have heard some positive feedback on consuming above 50g of protein in your post workout meal. I might give that a try. giantset ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
