Ummm no. My doc gave me danazol and spiranolactone for my gyno when trying to reduce it. That is not correct info that you have. Diuretics cause loss of water, in no way can they cause growth of breast tissue. Nick

sorry bignick, but you're wrong. i think we have people on this board that can confirm it. i can check it for you tomorrow. there was something about feminisation.. can't remember. but it was only the spironolanctone, not ie furosemid (lasix) or other diuretics. there are many psychosis drugs on the market that has gynecomastia as side effect.. later.. ------------------

Aldactone (spironolactone) is an anti-androgen that can cause gyno and impotence due to low androgen levels. Scientists didn't invent these drugs so bodybuilders could be ripped and shed excess water at contests so they could give a shit about gyno producing effects when a more serious condition as hypertension is present. I'm in no way flaming so please don't take this as any disrespect. There are a number of drugs on the market that bodybuilders don't use for bodybuilding purposes that can cause gyno such as Valium, some tricyclic anti-depressents, Tagemet, I even felt puffy nips from Inderal (propanolol). Viagra can even cause this in rare instances. It's a side of many many drugs. Just watch for it and let your doc know if you feel the symptoms. Once you have actual breast tissue growth it will NOT go away. It is important to nip it in the bud so to speak. Doctor's always say it goes away, but if you have actual breast growth (tissue buildup) it is there to stay. I even know a guy in the military who definitely doesn't juice (doesn't even lift) who has had gyno since puberty. It got to the point where he had to have it surgically removed. Know what the doc gave him to reduce it at first in an attempt to avoid surgery? Arimidex? Nolvadex? No, some kind of fucking antibiotic! No flame to docs. They are invaluable and I respect them, but in these situations you have to look out for yourself. Prevention is the best medicine. Audi 5000!
