Ok well today was the day......yeah, i started my diet. And yeah, its shitty as hell cutting out all that sugar. I swear i have felt so messed up and disoriented all day, its not even funny. But hey, im dedicated so im going to make it. No holds barred, here the fuck i come!

Now.....to the questions. I know that i should be adding some essential fatty's into my diet, but honestly, i dont know how much. How much fat should i be eating in a day? I could get some peanut butter, nuts, etc. to eat, but i need to know what my limit is. Flax seed oil i can get also.

Another thing, is MAN....i need some variety in here! This is torture! Baked chicken, rice, green beans, spinach, broccoli, tuna, eye round steak, eggs, oatmeal.....this is mainly what i am going to eat in a days time. If you saw my precontest diet post a while back, you will remember. Is there some other foods that are not so "BLAH" that i can add to this? Everything is so fucking plain, and its already driving me up the wall. Iv'e done it once, and yeah i can do it again, but i need something different.
Any help would be great...........THANKS!

Here are a couple little secrets i used for my contest. If you are 8-12 weeks out you can still eat some bread with you chicken, sugar free jam, equal, fat free sugar free pudding in your protien shake, light ranch dressing for your veggies, and diet pop.
3-6 weeks out you'll have to cut out the bull shit but good luck.

HEY BRO, I KNOW CUTING SUCKS, I WAS DIETING FOR 3 1/2 MONTHS BEFORE I STARTED MY BULKING CYCLE 1 WEEK AGO. I HATE TO DIET BUT I FOUND OUT THAT IF YOU ADD SOME THINGS TO THE MEAL IT IS NOT AS BAD. YOU COULD TRY ADDING SOME PROTEIN POWDER TO THE OATMEAL, AS FOR THE CHICKEN AND THE STEAK I FOUND OUT THAT IF YOU ADD SOME SPICES AND DRESSINGS THEY CAN TAST PRETTY GOOD. IF ANYONE HAS A GOOD RECIPE TO MAKE TUNA TASTE BETTER I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IT. HOPE THIS HELPS A LITTLE. GOOD LUCK ON THE REST OF THE DIET

Fe3, so you don't think that that shit would be bad? I mean, ill go get some sugar free pudding tomorrow, and some bread, and some jam even. I just dont want to screw up ya know. I know that from 6 weeks on i will need to buckle down, but variety is good. Also, yeah i have heard different stories on protein powder during pre-contest diets, and was wondering if i could add some. If i did, what would be the best to use in your opinion? Definitly wont be adding milk to it for sure though.

Yeah, Mustang, i have added some Mrs. Dash to just about everything i eat now!

One more thing for anyone to answer that knows: What is a good goal to shoot for in adding up the Calorie, Protein, and Carb totals for a day? How much should i be taking in in grams? Thanks

WHEN I WAS DIETING DOWN I USUALLY GOT BETWEEN 100-150 CARBS A DAY AND USUALLY ATE 350-400 GRAMS OF PROTEIN A DAY. MOST OF THE CARBS CAME FROM BREAKFAST AND RIGHT AFTER A WORKOUT AND I NEVER ATE CARBS AFTER 5:00PM. GOOD LUCK

Since water isn't an issue that far out, I'd recommend putting some salt on almost everything when you start to crave. I have been dieting now for about three weeks now with nearly no cravings. Also Crystal Light is great for dieting. It tastes sweet and if you don't add sugar , there is barely any calories in it.

mustang hit it very well. flax seed oil or in my case caps as well as primrose oil are to vital components to help keep ya full on reduced carbs. also small amount of almonds and evey once in a while natural peanut butter. your body will never shut down when carbs are low and you take in essiental fats and this has a great effect on the fat burning process. see how you respond to the oils but for me i take 2500 mg of flax seed oil and 6 grams primose oil which adds everyday about 6 grams of polyunsaturated fats back into my body. as for the diets the little tricks are low sodium salsa up to 6 weeks out, sugar free jello by the shit load, sugar free lemon ice ( this will make ya have the runs but taste great) lots of dash, tons of tabasco, and as for the diet how bad do you wnat to win? it was my bible last year for 15 weeks with no cheating. also try oil frees tir fry with sliced chicken breast, minced ginger, fresh cilantro, green vegetables, and a very very small amount of light soy sauce ( again stop the soy at week 6 because of sodium). cook it quick and serve over brown rice. good shit.

if you need a little sweetener use about a tablespoon of honey. Plus, I used protein powder aqll the way up to the contest last year. It didn't hurt me, I won.

Along with that sugar-free pudding, add some sugar-free jello, that stuff helps keep me sane and it tastes great.

God, i don't know what i would do without you guys. Thanks a ton for all your replys. Flexed1, i will try that stir fry you are talking about.....sounds pretty tasty, and "TASTE" is something im wanting bad! Another thing, you guys dont think that having sodium is a bad thing up until the week before the show? I just know that tobasco has sodium, and soy.....wow.

And when is a good time to stop eating all the sugar free jello, pudding, etc. ? I mean, can you keep a little of that up until a few weeks out, or what? I may add some designer protein into the blend too Boulder.......i have thought about this before, but a few have said its not too good to use in a pre-contest diet. Maybe ill try a serving a day of it. Thanks again guys, and i appreciate everything......this is a lot easier to do having support like this. :)

Dude, I don't want to sound like a scumbag but what did you think a contest diet was? You're looking to eat like I eat all year long. The minimum of 8 weeks out you stop all that jello and other bullshit. You are crazy if you are thinking of adding anykind of sodium loaded sauces to your meal. If you want flavor, use garlic powder or other non sodium filled condiments. And forget shakes and bars and all that shit. You need real food meals. If you want to place well, that's what you need to do. Otherwise, enjoy yourself all through the precontest diet and be prepared to watch the top 5 from the front row.

Again, don't want to sound like a prick but a contest diet is supposed to be hell but you just go through it and get used to it. And like a told you, stop listening to a thousand people and keep changing things.

ONE MORE THING! I already feel like im going flat for some reason, and i dont know if its because of no sugar or what, but i dont like it. I haven't lost any size, but i just dont feel as "full" as i have before. Can someone tell me why? Am i stupid or something, or is it really because of dropping my sugar to "zero"? And, what is a good amount of protein/carbs/calories i should be taking in in a days time? This i NEED TO KNOW!

Gq good points but disagree on the sugar free jello as I ate it up to the show and did fine. I cut all unnatural sodium 5-6 weeks out ( that means salsa, salt, tabasco, and the likes) this is not rocket science. As you stated the food has to be whole and the diet hardcore ( no pun intended). Hardcore you need to really key this in as all the advise on here differs. I think its insane to use certain compounds upo to the show as well as any kind of protein powder the last 6 weeks. its clean food all the way. as far as depleting or going flat everyday you will feel different. Sugar and carbs tend to fill ya out so when you cut them you'll look flatter. your only goal right now is to diet like your life depends upon it, do your cardio, and watch the mirror. Everyday you will look different some days good some days bad but the bottom line is it counts on the day of your show. hang in there and really try to focus on YOU and watch the questions as it will leave you very confused. you know what you ahve to do and i have no doubt you will do it.

Damn Flexed, you should be an inspirational speaker or something. You give great information and posts man.
I will keep it whole foods only from 5-6 weeks out, and cut all the unnecessary sodium. I will keep the jello, though.

Yes i am a dedicated person, so i will get through this in one piece. I have done it before, but for some reason this time it seems worse. Hey, i had some rice with a grilled tuna steak for lunch. Cooked it on the George Foreman grill, and damn was it good.
So, ill do my cardio, diet like a motherfucker, and pray. Thanks again for everybodys help, and i want you to know that i appreciate this more than you will ever know. I feel like i have so many "real life" brothers, but i just can't see them. My home away from home i guess.

One more thing Flexed: what would you put your salsa on?

Salsa on chicen, fish, eye round. even better make your own with fresh diced tomato, minced jalapeno pepper ( the ehat burn fat), fresh cilantro, ginger (nice twist)minced fine onion, and no salt so you wont have to worry about the sodium. MMMMM Good
