Here is the deal. Since last year when I last competed I have not bulked but gained about 8 pounds and lowered my bodyfat to 8%. pre contest last year this time it was about 10%. As most of you know I compete as a lightweight but don't feel confident since I have not put on a large more amount of quality muscle and weight as I moved and went through some personal shit after my show. Yes I have trained and increased my weight and decreased my bodyfat but I don't have last years intensity or focus. Now there is a show I am 'stalking" in May and I need motivation from all of you here. Its like the buddy suppourt system. Yes I want to compete but I guess since it has not been an obsession I feel I may not be ready. So I guess those of you who have seen my pictures if i came in 5 pound heavier (minimum) do you think that would be enough improvemnet in the eye's of the judges who have seen me and placed me second ( though quite a few had me 1st). Guess I am looking for someone to challenge and motivate me as my gym here is not what is was in Dallas and I am not around competitive folks in the gym with similar goals. ( last year there was 8 of us who trained for different shows and who helped each other out). Sorry this is so long but I am looking for comments and motivation.

I'm looking forward to someday competing in my first contest. I'm no where near big enough, YET, but that is my goal. You've been there already, and that is cool! It is guys like you who motivate me. Hope someday I can return the favor. Good luck and keep going at it....

I know how you feel flexed. Last year i was extremely focused. I entered my first show and won my class and almost took the overall. I had a lot of things happen this past winter and now I am almost 15 pounds lighter than last year. What really sucks is the guy who took third has put on about 10 and looks alot better. However, I know what it takes to get in top condition and they are still catching me. My shows aren't until August. I'll be there with bells on.

Hey Flexed, man, i think you should go for it. I think that adding 5 solid pounds is great, and the judges will definitly notice. You have helped me with a lot of shit, so if i can do anything, let me know. The dieting is the hardest part, and by now, you know this. I just started mine today, so i can go ahead and tell you that im not the most happiest person right now. I can already feel disoriented from not having any sugar. It sucks, but when you are on stage its all worth it. I have only done one competition and this will be my 2nd one. I will probably be about 10-12 pounds heavier then last year. Good luck man, and let me know what i can do to help! ------------------ EMAIL: [email protected]

Hey flexed, mind posting more pictures for us? As in different body fat percentages and so? More stats about you? You may not be motivated, but you motivate the rest fo us

Flexed1 -- First, let me encourage to do what you need to do to get yourself focused, train like an animal, and get ready to take it all. Second, from what I understand you compete as a lightweight. Therefore, the cutoff is somewhere around 152 to 155 pounds. Five pounds on a shorter frame weighing under 155 pounds is going to be noticed by all those that have judged you in the past. Don't think twice about it -- judges are going to notice the work you have done. ------------------ Because I want to . . . Because I have to . . . Because I need to . . . Because I can!
