I need to get my po box today, but all they have are the smallest boxes available and the really huge ass ones. The small boxes are 3" x 5.75" My supplier said he can ship everything in a CD size envelope which will probably fit in there. Is it very dangerous if your package doesn't fit and you have to go pick it up from the front desk? That is the last thing I want to do, cuz im afraid they will make me sign. My real name is gona be on the box, but the package will be shipping to my middle name initial and my last name. Should I be ok w/ a small box?

if they are going to bust you, then they are going to do it regardless if you sign or not. being that you are the only one with a key to your box, it still proves that you accepted a package.

but dont worry. if you are going inside the US, you are 99.9999999.....% safe.

It will probably fit in the small box, but if it were me, I would pay extra and get the huge box. Cause if you get the small box, and you get a slip of paper saying you have a package, you won't know if they are trying to bust you, or if it just didn't fit. Then you will be stressing more than ever. At least with the big box, you will know for sure if you are about to be busted.

The post office where you have your box is not who will be looking for illegal contents, US Customs is. If the package gets to the post office it won't matter if it fits in the little box or if you pick it up at the front desk. If they were going to bust you then they would hold it at the front desk no matter what size your box is.

Im gonna get a #2 size box. I just called and they said they can get one.. its a little bigger. 5.25 x 5.75 so it should def fit in there. What do I do if I get a slip that tells me to come get it at the desk? Will I still get in trouble if I don't go pick it up? Or just deny that its mine?
How does customs search.. i mean.. its going to be disguised as a normal cd size package.. bubble wrapped, there should be nothing suspicious about it. do they have one of those x-ray scan things like airports do where it scans all packages coming through?

They cut it open and look inside and then reseal it with green US Customs tape. They check them at random unless it is from a "hot spot" then they check almost all of them. Funny thing is though because they have so many to look at they don't look inside all that well. I have received packages that are inspected by US Customs and the "contents" are still in it. If the packaging is such that it looks legit at first glance it will probably get through.

By the way.. I just got back from the post office. I got my box and everything. My source is reassuring me about everything but until that package is in my hands im gonna be nervous and paranoid as hell. Ok.. my name on the box is "Peter Smith" but I had it addressed to "Mr. Smith." If for some reason the package is caught and I am setup, since I didn't put my full name in there could I still deny that the package isn't mine and not sign for it? Say something like.. "uuhh, you must have the wrong person, i shouldn't be getting anything from Poland." ?

You shouldn't have to sign for it anyway.

If you do though, you will not be able to argue that "Mr. Smith" is not the same as "Peter Smith."

You shouldn't have put any name on it. You should have had it sent to "boxholder"; I told you this a couple other times prior to this already, I guess you don't believe me and/or want the extra risk.

No Poland is not a hot spot. And your source is a very good packager so you should have no problems. He used to suck at it, but he is much better now.

Alright, I just emailed my source and told him to ship it to "boxholder." He's not gonna ship for another 2 days so he'll get my email in time. You are sure they will put it in my box this way though, right? And by using "boxholder" I can deny that the package is mine, correct?

I'm pretty sure I know who you are talking about.

(If it's who I think it is) he's good. Was somewhat slow with mine, a hair pricey for international and not great with e-mail after the order, but still delivered right on target and packing was acceptable. Took a little over 4 weeks for all of a relatively small order to get here. Still a good guy though. Just don't freak if it takes awhile.

I am sure (I've confirmed with the PO that this is an acceptable way to receive mail and I've used this method myself without fail) and yes, it makes it MUCH easier to deny.

Spunky, I've ordered from the very same guy using "boxholder" -- it came for me.

Hey, you play the game...you take the risk...

I still think you're too young (but I'll shut up about that now)

Good luck, and after you get it/do it, don't tell any of your friends, etc... It makes for juicy gossip.

Would there be a chance that customs eyebrows might be raised a little more when seeing "boxholder" opposed to a regular name. (Especially on international packages?) Or maybe I'm totally off.

Can't you just use a fake name, and the package would still get to your box without a hitch? (I don't see why it wouldn't)

Well here's how I'm approaching the PO box thing. First of all the mailbox place I'm using never requires you to sign. They sign for you. To keep my name out of it I use a business name. Of course, I did use my real name to sign up for the mailbox, but that doesn't mean I ordered any gear right?

I have various industry related things sent to that business address.

If there is gear sent to that box, I can always go in and pick up the whole pile of mail after hours when no one is around. It is going to be pretty obvious if there are cops staking out the parking lot IMO. And what are they gonna do, stake out a mailbox place for a week just to catch one guy with one order of gear? I don't think so.

It's not perfect, but I can do my best to deny that it's mine should anything ever happen.

In 90% of cases the pkg will fit in my box, and I'll get it along with all of the other mail.

That's the theory anyway. Just avoid arousing suspicion, be businesslike, etc.

Yes, the benefits are:

1. You get to drive to the post office more often.

2. You get to pretend you have fooled someone.

I have a couple simple questions also, so I might as well fit them in this thread:

1)If you have the PO Box under your real name, can mail that is being sent to your box be addressed to a different name and to the same box addy, would the mail still get to you with no probs or does it have to be addressed to the exact PO Box name you got it under?

2)Related to the question above, if you got ppl sending you mail, but addressed to a different name than what you have your box under, is it possible for them to call up the Post Office or something and find out your real home address??

I really appreciate any help with these questions bros... Thanks in Advance!!!!

Ok.. lets say I did get caught.. I only placed a very small order to test the source out, because its my first order from him. Only 100 dbols and he gave me some extra stuff for free........ u think they'd waste their time taking me down over $40 worth of gear?

If it's international and this is your first order, I think there is very little chance that you are going to get arrested. If Customs finds it, they'll confiscate it and send you a letter asking if you want to claim it. If you don't claim it, they destroy it. It is highly unlikely that the gov''t would invest the time, money and manpower for a controlled delivery unless they thought you were dealing. Unless you placed a large conspicuous order, your biggest risk is simply losing your gear.

As an aside, using 'boxholder' seems to attract unnecessary attention and reduce the chances of delivery. Some postal workers will deliver w/o a proper name, others won't. Anyway, once you pick up the package, it doesn't matter to whom it was addressed.

Fuck the post office. Just find a nearby mailboxes etc. or similar type business. Flirt a little with one of the girls working the counter. I have a girl at mine that I got to delete me off their computer and give me a fake name. She grabs all my packages for me and sets them aside. She also will give me a heads up before I get there in case the law is involved at all.

I have the same problem, usually when a package is too big they just put it in another P.O. box and put the key in mine so I can get it out myself. One time I had to sign for it but just sign a fake name. If their is doubt someone is watching you screw it go back later.
