Whey protein is the best protein you can get as far as I can tell from what I've read. Now I have another beginner question for ya'll. I went out and bought some whey protein and the suggested serving size is a a 29g scoop. How many servings should I be taking a day. I'm only 5'10" and weigh about 185 lbs (with not enough LBM)and I am just beginning a new routine lifting every day but alternating between upper and lower body workouts to give each muscle group a day to rest. I am also taking creatine serum about 15 min before each workout. So I ask you how many servings of the whey protein supplement should I be taking daily @29g per serving? As always thanks in advance and please forgive my naivete'. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I say you need to to take in a minimum of 200g of protein per day since you weigh 185. Make each protein shake w/ 1 1/2 scoops of protein powder, that should give you over 40g per shake plus the milk that you put in.. and be sure to eat alot of foods w/ protein. drink 2-3 of those shakes per day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The simple formula I use is 2g of protien for each lb of body weight. This is what my trainer has me doing. I am 5'7" and started using this formula when I was 165lb. I am now 205lb. I'm not saying that it was only the protien but I think it helped alot and the formula although simple appears to work well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

you only take one day off between working your entire upper or lower body? so you work your ENTIRE body THREE times per WEEK??? it doesn't matter how much protein you are using. with a workout schedule like that, you'll be overtrained in two weeks no matter what you do. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You need at least 72 hours between working the same muscle group. That will give your muscles time to rebuild. You can't tear done them everyday. I know it's hard to take a day off but you need it. My work out schedule is like this: 2 days on, one day off, 2 days on, 2 days of. This has worked great for me. I have went from 205 to 230. And feel stronger than ever. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
