Ok here's the deal my fiance and I just found out a couple weeks ago that she has PCOS(polycystic ovary syndrome). Basically her menstrual cycle has stopped for some reason which is causing her to have really bad stomach pains. The doc also told us that she is going to have trouble getting preganant. Meaning she would need some kind of pregnancy drug or she may not even be able to have kids at all. That really fucked me up even though were not ready for kids at the moment I still think about the day when we got some little rugrats runnin around. She's not handling the whole thing so well. She's is really afraid that I'm going to leave her over this, which is not the case at all. What can I do to help her with this situation and make her realize that I'm not going anywhere?? I mean this girl is like my life. We have known each other since we were little so I could not imagine my life without her. Please help me/us!! I know this does not belong on this board but bear with me guys. By the way I asked this yeaterday but got no answer the doc has her on medproxyr 10mg tabs to induce her period because he said if she stops having it at this early of an age it would most likely cause cancer. She's only 25. I was wondering though if this drug is used to induce ovulation can it be used to stimulate test production. This really the least of our worries and the funny thing about is that she's the one that brought that part up to me. Sorry so long!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sorry to hear that. I think the drug you are speaking of is medroxyprogesterone which is a progestin only based contraceptive that works opposite to what you are saying. It basically works in a manner opposite that of clomid. While clomid acts to induce ovulation by stimulating pituatary gonadotropins to be released, medroxyprogesterone acts by inhibiting the secretion of pituatary gonadotropins. I know this sounds like something you would not expect, but medroxyprogesterone is used to treat your fiance's condition, amenorrhea, and can also be used as a contraceptive. What effect comes about is largely due to how the drug is given, how often and what dosage. For amenorrhea (absence of period) the treatment is 5-10mg/day for 10 days and for contraception, the drug is given IM at 150mg every 3 months. Hope this helps you. ![]() ![]() ![]()
