I feel your pain. I have had a pain in the front part of my shoulder, I think it's the rotator cuff, for about 4 months now. The last 3 weeks I have just lifted light weights hoping a little rest will make it go away. I have started doing exercises for it so hopefully they will help too. Getting ready to start a cycle of sus and deca so hopefully it will go away pretty soon. It hurts the most when I flat bench. I also think it hurts more when I sleep on it wrong, but I'm not for sure.

i've had shoulder problems for a long time now. i had a doc tell me that he didn't know what was wrong and asked if i could "live with it". i just walked out but haven't seen another doc yet.
what's this about deca?

Yeah, I had an AC shoulder seperation in high school from playing football. Then in college, I tore my right rotator cuff playing baseball. About a year ago, I screwed my left rotator cuff up while preparing for a bench contest. My shoulders alway hurt. I hardly ever go heavy on bench or military press. Sucks.

yup. Personally, the lessons i've learned is:
1) I cannot do flat bench with a bar. OW OW OW!! I cannot do this exercise _period_.
2) I cannot do shoulder press with a bar *behind* the head. In front of the head no problem.

I used to have constant shoulder issues. I'd recover, decide to just 'give it one more shot', and again problems would crop up. Maybe not during the workout, but definitely the next couple of days, and persist for weeks. Once i dropped these two for good it's been smooth sailing.

i got a rotator cuff injury at work, its been a couple years ago. but on bench presses i can feel it, and sometimes it will pop a little bit. im always afraid to do heavy benches, it feels like it would pop out! ouch, and long recoveries.

i had a rotator cuff injury. I 've learnd some lessions and now it is almost ok

-DO NOT EVER PRESS BEHIND NECK. it 'll wreck your rc and it is usless since tou can do dumbell presses. Forget this exercise for life.

-DO NOT SLEEP ON THE INJURED SIDE

-do not flat bench when you're injured. Try a chest machine and do partial reps.

-don't do flyes and lateral raises.

-train your external rotators.

-take glucosamine and wait a couple of months to see the results.

I didn't warm up enough one cold December day about a year ago. I stretched/tweaked a ligament in my shoulder. It hurts when I go heavy. It hurts less on incline than on flat bench.

Must remember to always warm up properly.

Rotator cuff injuries are something that I would very much like to avoid.

What are some ways of strengthening the RC?

Try this dudes...... its not a cure but helps....Use DMSO gel and crushed/powdered aspirin or naproxin....rub it into your shoulder for pain relief...make sure you shower first and have clean hands because dmso will transport bad things into your body if not clean.Works for me!

I don't know whether to cringe or cry whenever I read these posts. Mostly because I was right there with you guys a few months ago.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LOOK INTO "ACTIVE RELEASE TREATMENT."

Go to the t-mag website and use their search function. Type in "Real Miracle Worker." I promise you will not be sorry you looked into this treatment. It is fast, cheap, and THE SINGLE MOST EFFECTIVE FORM OF TREATMENT I HAVE EVER HAD ON AN INJURY. (And I played four years of D-I ball, so I know plenty about treatment.)

Get this done, you wont be sorry.

advil creams and painkillers are only temp. reliefs. you need to take care of the problem. strengthen your cuffs go out and get the 7 min rotator cuff solution book and do some exercises to strengthen your capsule. most people are lose jointed and when performing exercises such as bench press, incline press, and anything behind the neck exposes your rotator cuff and puts strain on it. And pain in the front of shoulder is not good..

I've had the same problem, fell down the stairs, tried to hold 233 lbs w/ my hand and out goes the shoulder. It's been since Aug and I still can't do heavy benches or shoulder presses at all.

The Bull, let us know where to get that rotator cuff solution book.
