I just went to the Dr. for a consultation about gyno surgery. The damned Dr. wouldn't even submit the papers to get my insurance to pay for it. He basically said I was a fat ass and needed to lose weight. I'm 5'10" and weigh 185 with about 12% BF. He said at my height I shouldn't weigh more than 150. He said it would go away if I lost weight and said my gyno wasn't that bad. Well I'm self conscious as hell about it. My boobs sag like an old man's and my nipples are the swollen and are the size of half dollars. How do I put a picture with a post so I can get the opinion from some Bodybuilers?    | ||

some doctors piss me off.....I would suggest that you get a second opinion bro....and doctors don't do body fat tests before they tell you to lose weight, what they do, is look at a chart with your age/hight, and tell you what you should weigh. You could be solid muscle, and some of those ass holes would tell you that you needed to lose weight.  | ||

I guess any pro body builder would be completely obese by this guys standards, how in the hell can someone be smart enough to make it through med school but too stupid to recognize that there is a difference between lean body weight and fat? | ||

Just let him know how good a doc he is, 12%bodyfat is below average and you should actually carry more fat. ------------------ | ||

has any one else had this happen to them? he basically said surgery wasn't necessary. This is a cosmetic surgeon that stuffs womens tits with silicon!!! I guess big boobs are medically necessary for women | ||

I feel for you bro. Say do you have a lump around your nipple or is it soft? If it is soft it could be water and fat which could you could loose. I went to a doc because my chest retained water/fat. He said it's not gyno and it will go away with time. He said it was due to high test levels. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped the stuff and the bloatness is going down. I am used to having a lean,cut hard chest so any kind of bloatness freaks me out like a nightmare. Hope this helps Later.. | ||

I would definitely recommend getting another opinion. To be 5'10", 185 with 12 % BF does not sound obese to me. If he really told you that your ideal weight at your height is 150, he is a quack. Hell, I'm 5'5" and my normal weight is 150. Granted, you may have some fatty deposits around your nipples that may shrink a bit with diet changes, but I think the heart of the issue is your self image. A good doctor should be able to help you in all aspects of your health, both physical and mental. Good luck. | ||

The bad part is that this is the only cosmetic surgeon in my area that participates with my HMO. So I guess I'm going pay for it all myself | ||
