I'd say shoulders. Only because I use alot of trap strength in my back workouts and I'm always too tired after pull-ups and rows to focus 100%. When I do have the energy, though, I feel the traps get a more complete workout with back.

I say shoulders. I will be doing heavy upright rows as a compound movement, which really works the traps and medial deltoids. I'll work the shoulders after that.

Back, you use alot of traps with rowing and other back exercises and you also use forearms and biceps with shrugging so to me it makes sense to put at the end of back/bicep day.

My back day incorporates rear delts and traps. If you think about it the rear delts get used so much as support for the back movements. Trapezius muscle is a pulling muscle and should be used with other pullers. Plus I get a wicked pump from doing T-Bar rows into Barbell shrugs.

People at the gym always ask me what i do for my traps to get them so big, upright rows, shrugs, etc. The only thing i have ever done is deadlifts. Genetics i guess.

Biz, this is depends upon whether the person uses deadlifts in their back routine. Although the traps are somewhat utilized during most rows chest level and lower, they are extremely stressed during deadlifts. Deadlifts provide an excellent downward pull to the shoulders that force the traps to work as resistors and stabilizers. I am extremely strong in my traps and find it much easier to do deadlifts to tax the traps before shrugs to limit the amount of weight needed for a good workout. I say....BACK!
