My friend just called me half crying saying that he was in the middle of shooting some Sustenon into his quad and got up to half a cc and started to go blind (very blurry vision, felt very lightheaded, and was shaking. He layed down on his bed and felt a little better, regained most of his vision, but still feels a little light headed and is very scared. This is the third week of his first cycle. He already did two injections of two cc's with no problems. He said that he pulled back on the plunger before he shot and saw no blood and was not nervous at all since this was already his third time shooting. I never heard of this happening before. The only problem I thought you could have was from shooting into a vein; are these the symptoms of shooting into a vein because maybe he didn't pull back on the plunger enough since he is inexperienced? PLEASE HELP, I'M SCARED, HE'S MY BEST FRIEND AND NEED TO EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL HAPENED TO HIM!

I doubt 1cc into a vein would do that much damage, just the symtons you mentioned.

I take it by the time you read this he will be ok.

Maybe he started thinking he was in a vein which caused him to go into a panic attack. You'll get blured vision and feel shaky and scared. Plus sometimes if you inject you might pull back and have no blood, but the slightest move foward will put you right into a vein. If he's still scared go to the hospital.

That happens to me when I get a tattoo in a sore area. Nothing to do with the sust, its the needle that causes it. Get some ELMA and apply 1/2 hour before injection. Make sure to wipe it off before injection and apply alcohol...

Happened to my friend when I was giving him a shot. It had nothing to do with a vein because I'm anal making sure to asperate. I think it had to do with his breathing because he passed out when he got a tattoo as well. He droped like a rock as the plunger went in. Scared the shot out of me. He's good to go. He just got real pale for an hour or so and felt dizzy. Later, Green

What your friend experienced might have been a VASOVAGAL SYNCOPY. (Great term, hey?)

It used to happen to me every time I had to have a shot, blood drawn, etc. I wasn't scared before, but it's a a reaction controlled by the aunotomic nervous system. You get lightheaded, and everything goes blurry (or kind of purplish) right before you black out. According to my doc, this is because your brain decides your internal organs are in trouble and all the blood pools there.

That is what happened to me after my 1st shot. I was in the process of fainting. It gets easier after a few.

As Bunky stated, it was most likely syncope. (the medical term for feinting) The reason you feint is because of a lack of supply of blood and thus oxygen to the brain. Blood is pooling in the lower parts of the body. It can be due to many things, including posture. Feinting is actually a protective response. Since the body is not getting oxygen to the brain, you feint and usually fall, thus allowing the blood to more easily get to the brain since it is no longer fighting against graity. Syncope victims usually recover within seconds of their episode. This sounds like what happened to your friend.

I have to agree with Montecristo. Everyone one of my tats I past out for about 5 to 10 seconds. I dont know what it is but I do. I tell the artist ahead of time and he gives me sugar pills to chew up, suppose to help, but it doesnt help me. Never had it happen while injecting gear though, maybe cause I consentrate more.
