Of the many fruits and vegetables available which ones do you guys like, and I mean for health reasons not taste and why are they the good ones. I try to eat broccoli every day and it is a pain but I know how damn good it is for you and I have decided that It is the best vegetable out there for vit and mineral content. If it was squash I would eat that then. Same goes for fruits and I have chosen cantaloupes, luckily these are a lot tastier. Now on the fruits I know the sugar isn't the best if cutting but is it worth forgoing the other health benefits, not that fruit sugar is so bad, just to avoid a litte fruit sugar? especially if eaten in the morning or before or after a workout as it is used and necessary at those moments of the day. I have read that the sucrose is what kills you and some fruits have much more than others - think apples were the worst, wonder where cantaloupe stands on this list, anyone read that article in a muscle mag about 9 months ago? It was pretty damn scientific! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

As far as health benefits of fruit and veggies, I read that the top most nutritious ones are brocolli, red bell peppers, cantaloupe, spinach, pumpkin, and carrots as well as a few others i don't remember off hand. I know that both spinach and brocolli are full of vit. c and iron. Red bell peppers have a lot more vit. c than an orange as well. Pumpkin and carrots are full of beta carotene and i know pumpkin has a huge amnt of vit. A. Tomatoes, apples, and brocolli have the most natural cancer fighting agents in them. Banannas are full of potassium. I think a little fruits are always alright, even when cutting. As long as your cardio is on track, you can afford to include some fruits in your diet, depending on how lean you are. A friend of mine competes and does very well and he keeps 3-5 pieces of fruit in his daily pre-contest diet. Obviously this doesn't work for everyone. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
