Bros,
I've started a strict diet this week in an attempt to lose bodyfat while still gaining lean body mass. I'm a classic ectomorph (6'2, 186 lbs.) and I put on about 12 lbs. on a 500mg sus/week cycle this fall. I did the "eat everything in sight" diet, and gained some mass, but also put on a ton of fat and water. Now I'm planning to shed fat by eating more frequently and being strict with my diet. I'll be doing 30mins of cardio everyday, as well. Here's the plan:

Meal 1:
8 egg whites, 2 whole eggs
3 packets instant oatmeal
1 glass grape juice with Greens+ powder and Glutamine

Meal 2:
1 protein bar OR shake

Meal 3:
1 deli-sliced turkey breast sandwich, with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes (no mayo or dressing)
1 apple

Meal 4:
2 chicken breasts (with a little BBQ sauce)
1 cup chopped, stir-fried potatoes

Meal 5 (post-workout):
1 protein shake with glutamine

Meal 6:
1 lean steak or chicken breast
1 cup mixed brocolli and cauliflower

Meal 7:
1 can white tuna
1 flaxseed bagel w/ 2 tbsp. peanut-butter

Will this be enough calories/ protein? Are my carbs gonaa be too high? Also, I'm planning another cycle for next month. Will this diet work for putting on lean mass and limiting water retention while on test or primo (remember -- cardio every day!). Thanx, y'all!!!

ok, here are some suggestions:
1. cut out the instant oatmeal packets and the juice -- way too much sugar. Eat regular oatmeal instead.

2. You need carbs most right after our work out. A protien shake alone isn't going to do it.

3. Don't eat carbs in your last meal (especially with fat (peanut butter)). Move it to meal 6 (or even to it to meal 3).

3, Overall I think you need more carbs. If you're not cutting them out completely (keto diet), then you need them for energy, especially early in the day.

Just some thoughts. I'm sure others will have better advice. Good luck.

I think people make a big mistake by taking in too little fat. If your trying to put on muscle that takes a lot of calories to go along with protein thats needed. Why not get your moneys worth and go with fat. Thats not to say its more important just that it is necessary also. I mean good fat like fish oil and flax oil also some olive oil. Fat is also necessary for a lot more than calories. It is needed for several processes in the body the omega 3,6,9 are also extremely helpful in lowering cholesterol which is a concern for everyone on this board

Wannabebig,
I am taking flaxseed oil caps 3-5 grams a day. Also, I get omega 3's from the tuna. I thought the peanut butter would be good to get some fats, too.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Heres one:

Meal 1- 40 gram protein shake
3/4 cup oatmeal

Meal 2- 10 egg whites
1 banana
1 tbsp. peanut butter

Meal 3- 40 gram protein shake
1/2 cup fiber one ceral (dry)

Meal 4- 5 oz. chicken
1 banana

Meal 5- 1 can tuna -1/2 cup brown rice all
mixed in a big salad
with 1 1/2 tbsp. flax seed
oil and vinegar

Meal 6- 40 gram protein shake

Meal 7- 10 egg whites

Mix the meals around according to your training and have a carb meal after w.o
but your last two meals of the night no carbs
and that will work wonders for you. Dont do any cardio until you have your diet adjusted to yourself. If you cut your cals to low and do cardio to boot, you will lose to much weight to soon or just the opp. but you are better off doing it slowly, so you can see where you stand.
