I know that some of the steroids will supposedly accellerate your likelyhood of cancer if you are genetically inclined towards it - I'm not claiming the "all steroids give you brain cancer" - I'm just saying that they lead to increased growth which leads to increased cell turnover, which then increases your chance of cancer if you are genetically predisposed to it.

I'm about to start a cycle and am psyched, but I'm noticing a spot on my face that is growing and I'm thinking it might be skin cancer (it was never there until I got a bad burn on my face, then it came and has been growing ever since - over a year now).
I don't really want the drugs to make it grow faster - anyone have any experience with this?

anyone have any recommendations for a good dermatologist in the Boston area?

STERIODS DID NOT GIVE LYLE ALZADO(sp?) BRAIN CANCER> Back in the late 70's and early 80's the were pulling HGH out of dead youth and giving it to the athletes or whomever needed it. It was not synthetic like today. Well it was traced back to a 19year old male that died in a car crash. He just happen to have some form of brain cancer that was transferable through blood. THere you have it.

I don't know of any derms in boston, but you need to find one. That's definitely something you don't want to put off. Even if it's not cancer it doesn't sound pleasant. A friend of mine just had what he thought was only a birthmark on his forehead removed, come to find out it was cancerous. Not something to mess around with.

I know Lyle wasn't killed by steroids and I was't tryin gto say he was - although I do have to admit I used the subject b/c I know it pisses people off and I wanted them to come in

as for the thing on my face - yeah, I know I need to get it looked at.
it is red and a rasied bump - it looks like an artery is trying to grow out of my face instead of along under the skin.

and then all over the place on my body I have tri spots that are sort of similar, little raised red dots and they are always in a triangle formation about an inch apart. I probably have anbout 5 of these sets. strange. thy aren't growing, just the one on my face. and it itches.

pisses me off b/c I want to tan, but this doesn't make me think I should be tanning.
I have pretty fair skin (I have weird heritage - some norweigian, some cherokee indian, some scotch irish, some german - I'm a mutt)

Not that there is anything wrong with it, but Alzado was gay. He died of AIDS and he had cancer of the brain, not a brain tumor. Tumors can begin to grow rapidly on some forms of AS and GH, but cancer of the brain is a common occurance during the final stages of the AIDS virus. See what the media doesn't want you to know. It was all another ploy to the anti-drug stance (Just Say NO) to blame it all on AS.

hhmmm, aliens... not that I know of. I do have a lot of blackout times in my life though - drinking spills. if any of you have been in Ybor in Tampa, you might have kicked my ass... someone did - I then woke up in someone's apartment - they found me passed out in a parking lot and took care of me. I didn't know how to get to my friend's place - I was visiting. I lost a credit card and my cell phone that night too.
all I know it was some redneck with a mullet and a white pickup truck that beat me up... if you can call it that - I think he hit me in the back of the head.

while I'm describing my skin maladies, I also have flaky skin on the inside ridge of my nose and I have a "Gorbechev" style birthmark on my neck... that used to have a scab thing after I got cut up and fell in some river near DC while jet skiing.

yeah... after reading this my life sounds far more fucked up that I had previously thought of it.
and that isn't even my craziest drinking story.

Yes, Alzado had aids. The other disease mentioned, which is derived from human HGH rather than the synthetic kind we use today, is very similar to Mad Cow Disease, not brain cancer.

Prions. if it was similar to mcd then it was likely caused by prions. similar again to alzheimers' too. proteins that aren't doing the right thing and clogging up the system, breaking stuff so you get holes in the system (the brain).
feels like that in my head sometimes. I'm just weird though.

Just wondering, how does some of you know that Lyle was gay and had AIDS. Were is the evidence? I am not denying this to be of fiction, just wondering where the sources are to back up the claims. I agree that his cancer was not a result of steroids, but who said he had AIDS?

I also wonder where the prrof of his aids came from... Is it just something you heard and believed or was it something documented?

First, go to a doctor if you even suspect it's cancerous.
Second, steroids have not been proven cause cancer.

I have recurrent osteosarcoma. I got into BB because I went through very heavy chemotherapy and radiation that left me looking like a wraith.

But taking care of yourself and any possible tumors is far more important than how big your stinkin' delts are.

Trust, as cool as it will be to die looking good. It's not so cool to die because looking good was your main priority.

didn't mean to imply they cause cancer - meant to imply they will speed any growth that is there and increase any likelyhood that you were predisposed to in the first place.

I doubt it would speed the growth of cancer. Cancer cells aren't muscle tissue, nor do they metastasize in the same manner.

Most doctors prescribe will prescribe some kind of anabolic to combat wasting.

I've asked my oncologist this before.

cool - must have either misread something or it was wrong - probably referring to GH instead.

thanks all - now just need to find a dermatologist around here, don't know where to start - guess I'll just go see my doc... I hate going there.
