I've heard that a lot of martial artists, boxers and athletes take winny because it helps with their speed. I know that it helps w/ endurance but does it really help w/ speed? [This message has been edited by Charles Ray (edited January 09, 2001).]

I was wondering the same thing, so I researched and came accross an article by Brock Strasser [I'm almost positive it was him, anyway]: "As for assessing efficacy, I can make the following observations. I don't believe that stanazolol will improve your speed any better than some other products. It will help you recuperate, though, especially if stacked with an androgen like testosterone propionate. If not subjected to random testing, a sprinter/football player could make good LEAN gains while complimenting his particular training regimen with around 50 mg of each every fourth day. This could also be used as a short, low-dose course (around four or five weeks) between heavier cycles." hope that helps

No scientific evidence, but it did work for Ben Johnson.

Well being a martial artist and boxer I can say that it pretty much does not help speed at all. Let me explain why. I assume since you used boxing and martial arts in your post you refer to punching speed etc which I feel is totally different from ben johnsons running speed. The reason Ben was helped by winny is because running is a power based sport not speed based , it is the power of pushing off the track that is important and is what Ben managaed to improve. There are running who could mover their legs more quickly but can not cover 100 metres very quickly. Punching speed on the other hand is pure muscle contraction speed which can not be increased with winny. Anyway just ask if you need more specifics . Luca

Well I don't see the difference between contraction and strength really. I mean when you punch aren't you using the strength of your muscles to thrust your arm into a certain direction? And the more you practice your punching, kicking etc. won't the winny aid in helping those muscles get stronger thus making you faster? Just seems logical.

Here's what I've gathered on the subject of speed. In order to get faster, you need explosive power. The best drugs for this would be Test, Anavar and HGH, and a few others but those are the good ones. People that are fast have a high number of fast twitch mucles fibers that are good for speed and people that are slow or good distance runners have a higher number of slow twitch muscle fiber. Remember, Winstrol is great because it will only add lean body mass with almost zero water retention. It CANNOT increase fast twitch muscle fibers. But its a performance enhancer and you'll likely become stronger which may make you more explosive and thus become faster. A better drug rather than Winny would be Anavar, Test, HGH. And if I remember right, didn't somebody accidentally inject Ben Johnson with Winny a few days before the meet. He was taking Test all throghout his training leading up to the Olympics. And would have been fine.

What helps with speed is things that add STRENGTH only. No muscle. Try Halotestin or anavar.

Thank you Man Child...I have never seen anyone actually post an correct answer to this question before besides mabye Animal...you are absoluty correct. Winny will do nothing for speed...test is king...Tren will do wonders for speed as well, but it significantly hinders endurace which is a pretty heafty tradeoff... In the eastern bloc countries they also give there sprintes low doses of Dbol after their workout...I don't know about this...but ya never know... |
