Many people have there opinions on what is the right age to start. I'm 19 and was wondering what you guys thought. Is it too young. I imagine it depends alot on the individual.

19 is too young, I'm 20 and still can gain alot natural... seriously why waste money when you can gain like a mofo naturally? if you haven't been training (and eating!!!) hard-mother-fucking-core for ATLEAST 2 years I feel you have NO BUSINESS AT ALL juicing...

"and that's the bottom-line"

From the piont of view of science and overall health, I would say too young. This is the most common response you will hear, because it is the safest, most accepted, and is pretty sound.

However, realistically, most pro's started using in their teenage years.

It's all up to you, because the very fact you made it here says you have the determaination to want to use them, which is something I doubt any of us can stop with what we say or how we feel.

I WILL BE 19 IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND I AM GETING READY TO START MY FIRST CYCLE. I HAVE DONE ALOT OF RESEARCH. I HAVE BEEN TRAINING FOR A LONG TIME AND I DECIDED TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL. I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO GO FOR IT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE READY BUT BEFORE YOU DO YOUR FIRST CYCLE PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO RESEARCH AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PUTING INTO YOUR BODY. GOOD LUCK

M18

Since you didn't answer my question, I will tell you that you are wasting your time if you have not trained seriously for at least 3 years. I am on the fence about the whole "natural potential" issue but I will tell you that steroids work the best on highly conditioned and experienced athletes.

It is your money, life, time, and "potential".

I guess we do live in a culture that encourages instant gratification so your questions are normal.

I just want to mention (while sounding awfully ironic) that this is the reason why steroids are illegal.

I see the same crap on these threads over and over again. The older guys (over 21 say no). The younger guys get defensive. Blah blah blah.

There are many reasons for you to stay away from gear until you are slightly older. The number one issue is sides. I have seen gyno symptoms in many younger guys. Rarely do I see it in older guys. Plus there is the whole issue of responsibility and experience. Many of the older bros have spent years dealing with younger guys in this realm and are tired of babysitting. There are just too many 16-19 year olds who get into gear and do all the wrong things...physically and socially. And it is guys like this that give our culture its stereotype.

Just so I don't step on too many toes here, I know that some of the younger vets have done fine with no mood swings or sides....but they are the exception rather than the rule. This is from first hand experience.

We are not trying to be parents here, but we are just telling you from our own experiences and observations to stay away until you are older. In the world of gear and bodybuilding, experience from the "elders" is your most valuable resource.

I agree with you. Execpt>>>>>>>>
The same number of "ELDERS" think that because they are older its fine for them to take the next step. They are also wrong. I only make one statement
"Its not the age persay, Its the Experience and Mental Stability"
That should determine if you go into this part of the sport.
But also Anything below 17 is "wrong"

I think you are too young. Your hormones are still raging. Your body doesn't stop truely growing until you reach at least 21. Some say even a year or two later. Some people do hit a growth spurt around 23. I waited until I turned 21 and a half. If you start too soon, your bones will stop growing which will cause stunted growth in both bone length as well as bone density. So, you won't grow any taller than what you are, and you are at an increased risk of osteoporosis and arthritis. Just the facts. I've been in the health field at college for 4 years now.

Its early to use AS in your teens..... Unless u have been seriously training drug-free, keeping to a strict careful diet for a few years and have reached a "muscular plateau", well, then go ahead! Otherwise, its a waste to upset yr hormonal balance so early when it is at its peak levels.

At your age now, you already have high levels of natural test and all other anabolic hormones in your body. Weight training increases natural levels further. Take advantage of this while you are young because once you begin you are not going to be able to gain much naturally. Reach your natural limit first and then ask the question in a year or two more.

at 19-21 I grew like crazy naturally. It is prime age to grow, but you can do it naturally. You will always be able to juice later on when you body slows down.

Think about juice as a tool to take you over what your genetic makeup can do by itself. Everyone stops at a certain point, that is when you use gear to take you over to the next level.

ok i am in kind of the same situation but i am going to do my first cycle but this is because i am 19 have been in sports all my life and have trained hard and have eaten a great diet for 4 yearss. I researched gear for about 2 years before i considered and am comfortable in my choice. There is one this for certain.. if you ask if you are too young you haven't done your reasearch and trained like you should have otherwise there would be no doubt in your mind.. just my pespective

I started at 19 and had no problems.

1- I had been training for almost 4 years with never more than 2 weeks off.

2- I had been following a eating plan for almost 2 years.

3- I knew enough about gear not to hurt myself.

One thing I wonder is if it affected my bone growth. I don't know if my shoulders would have been wider if I had waited until I was 21 to start ???

Think about it. Waiting just might make you a better, wider, bodybuilder.
