Am I the only one??? My friends do it with back but I feel them more in my legs/gluts then anywhere ( sumo style) The only other major place I feel them is in my traps wgich makes me wonder if I should do them with back since I do traps and back on the same day...Any input appreciated ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

If you do them sumo style, then I think you'd benefit more from doing them on leg day. I notice the closer the grip, the further up on the back that deadlifts target. But everyone feels exercises differently, go with what feels right. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I switch from squats one week to DLs the next. Never do 'em the same day, cause I tried once and puked! ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I do them on leg days that focus on the hamstrings/glutes. Whatever you do, don't try to squat AFTER DLing! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Definitely, I usually periodize my program, so I will sometimes do them in place of squats on leg day. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Actually I've used the trap bar dead to replace squats on quad day sometimes. It is best when you use the 35lb plates to get a better ROM...problem is that trap bars usually have short collars so you can't fit as much weight on. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

i prefer back day for me. One week i do stiff legged light weight deads to target my lower back, and the next i go all out with heavy ass sumo style deads ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I always do deads - either sumo or Romanians - on leg day. It never made any sense to consider deads a "back day" lift (in the sense of upper back, you know, rows, pullups, etc.) but I posed this question (or a very similar one) before, and everybody thought I was nuts. Either you all got sane (which I know for a fact is not true in Ulter's case!), or maybe the members of the board have changed that much? Stiffs only on leg day to hit the hams, I do a full dead-lift on Back day, but sometimes switch to shoulder depending on my intesity level, stress and soreness. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I frequently deadlift before squatting. The deads get me warmed up and my knees and hips don't hurt as much when I squat. But I can't squat as much weight this way. ![]() ![]() ![]()
