I want to take in 200g of protein a day, but how should I do it so none is wasted

I am 5'9 160 I would think the body can take in 40grams no problem? but Im not sure.

I've always followed the 50g per meal rule;
it also helps if you eat at least 20g of
fiber daily. I get mine through V8, steamed veggies, and supplements.

At different times of the day you should take different amounts, so split it up like that. Directly after a workout you are gonna be able to digest and convert more protein than you would as this is the time you need protein the most. Also first thing in the morning slightly higher protein.

Split it up into as many meals as possible, but I believe you may need more than 200 grams. If you train hard then take about 70 grams or more after a workout, thus leaving 130? It may be enough but in my humble opinion it is not.

people over analyze this WAY too much. protein intake can be summed up in two words: get enough.

all depends on you, some can handle 30 at a shot, others 100. Go by your gut - literally.

From what I have read, ones body can only metabolize about 40 or 50 grams of protein in a 1.5 to 2 hour time span. However, many bros on this board might strongly disagree, but this is what I have been told & have read on my own. I always try to consume 40 to 45 grams of protein every hour & 1/2 or two hours. This has worked fine for me thus far. I think that you have to basically get a feel for what your own body can handle, and then just go from there.

another note: i would say your body can handle MUCH MUCH more hydrolyzed protein and whey isolate than other forms. especially hydrolyzed since it is already digested.

I bought a protein powder called High5 that I really like. It has 5 different types of protein. Quick digesting and slow digesting. I take 75 grams of this before bed to help get my daily quota. Throughout the day I take 50 gram doses of protein.
