I believe bound test is testosterone that has sex hormone binding globulin attached to it so that it can not attach to the androgen receptor. Free testosterone is test that is unbound by SHBG and therefor free to bind to androgen receptors. Free testosterone is the important number to look at on blood tests since it is the active level of testosterone in your system.
