Strip the bar while still holding it?? For example on bench press, you get two guys one at each end, start of with say 4 plates, do as many as you can, then while still holding the bar, they rip off a plate, you go for reps, then they rip of another etc etc... it's a sure fire way to burn yourself to pieces!

Dont you think that it could be kind of dangerous, I mean if these spoters guys dont coordinate while riping the 45 pound plate you could loose your balance.
Maybe beter If you put ligher plates on the end of the bar.

It sounds good. Ill try it out!!!

Yea, it's called a strip set. It's helpful when 3 guys are working out to do them with barbells.

Another great strip set which only requires one other person is tricep pushdowns. This way, if you're using straps for grips you don't have to take your hands off the bar. I think it's intense training. I don't do it all the time. Usually, end up soaked in sweat from head to toe.

I usually do this w/ 10lb plates. Put a shitload on each side.. do 12 reps, take 1 off, do 12 reps, take 1 off.. etc.. then when u are down to nothing but the bar u do it as many times as u can.. most of the time, the bar feels awful heavy when u are done.

You've finally supprised my E2 !. It's an old training system, done properly it's great however only work a muscle into such a state every couple of weeks. Remember you should have enough recovery leaving the gym to repair and grow.

With bench press...all you have to do is rack the weight, have them strip the weight off, then begin again. Not that hard.

Used to play a burnout game with a buddy of mine. . .we'd fill the bar up with 10's, both sides for chest or shoulders, bi's too, do as many as you can, he stips 1 off each end, you take 20 seconds between sets and start again as many as you can. Personally I think it is one of the best strengthening exercises if done periodically. It tears muscle down like no other and build stamina.

It will definitely seperate the men from the boys. I usually work out alone so I rack the weight strip it and go back to lifting as fast as I can. Wish I had a spotter though and I could go to failure. Don't do it very often but I use it to mix things up now and again.

Peace

I have done it before...usually I will do something similar on my last set of the muscle group of the day(whether it be barbell, dumbell, or machine, I just keep decreasing the weight and doing reps for till it hurts..hehe)

I finish my chest workout with drop sets using cable flys. It's so quick/easy to change the weight. Nearly any exercise its easier to do drop sets when on a machine. Changing free weights for drop sets takes too long.

I used to do it all the time when I had two work out partners.

It was fun and a great workout.

But it sucked if you had to pull weights, then lift. Going first is much nicer, more energy and strength.

I lov'em I load the bar up with 10's and strip a pair at every failure. I go this way until it's just the bar and I can not even get that for another rep. I only do it once in a while but it's definately a shocker!
Breaks me out of a slump every time.

I've done something similar. I've gone to failure, racked the weight, had a partner (or two) strip some weight, then continue. I think it's more safe that way.

If you do them right they can be a great addition to your workout arsenal! I do them at most once a week per bodypart. More than that is very hard on your recovery time.

I used to do it with the leg press. It is extremely painful. I added 1 solid inch to my thighs in 1 month and I wasn't using any gear. I couldn't walk for a month though either. I would be sore for 5 days, day 6 felt o.k. then day 7 was leg day again. Seriously I was sore for a month straight.
