Does anyone know anything about combining saw palmetto with masteron during a cycle? Saw palmetto is a DHT inhibitor to protect hair and the prostate gland, thus it is recommended during an androgenic steroid cycle. But masteron is a derivative of DHT. I was wondering whether saw palmetto counteracts the effectiveness of masteron or just the side-effects of DHT, i.e. hair loss. If saw palmetto is specific to androgen receptors in the skin and hair follicles then that's great. I don't mind a small impact on the effectiveness of masteron if my hair is protected but if saw palmetto and masteron simply counterract eachother 100% then I am wasting my time and money. If anyone knows anything about this and can help me that would be much appreciated. Thanks

guys, I have been told that saw palmetto is not proven to prevent hairloss. I emailed one of those q&a people at testosterone magazine and they wrote back and said that clomid is excellent for preventing steroid caused hairloss. Also nizoral shampoo helps deactive the effect of DHT on hair follicles.

>they wrote back and said that clomid is >excellent for preventing steroid caused >hairloss Huh? Perhaps the authors were mistaking Proscar/Propeica for Clomid. In fact, I believe one of the side effects of Clomid is the possibility of hair loss. Saw Palmetto is a very controversial herb. Some have reported it to be an androgen receptor blocker, some have said it is not, some have said that it reduces testosterone levels, etc. etc. None of these statements have been proven medically. Unfortunately we really don't know what the effects of SP are on hair follicles. The anectodal results have been mixed. Personally I have found that it has minimized my hair loss. Others have found it to be completely useless. To prevent steroid induced hair loss, perhaps the original poster should consider topical anti-androgens such as Spironolactone and/or azelaic acid. You can get these items from one of the following sites: Hope this helps.

Saw Palmetto does block converted DHT from receptors, all of them, not just those in your scalp. I don't think the receptors effecting the prostate are in your scalp do you? And yes it has been proven medically in over a dozen studies that span three continents and 19 years. The claim that is also blocks testosterone was made in Saudi Arabia many years ago and that study was very questionable, so much so that in their conclusions they asked that further study be done and to date no one has taken them up on it. Obviously those in the field do not feel it is warranted. BTW it stopped my hair thinning cold. ------------------
