This was posted on a powerlifting forum but I know some of you will recognize these old school names:

"Tony Atlas did a 610 in the eighties. Animal hit 630, Rocky Johnson (the Rocks dad) was good for around 600, Hulk Hogan did in the 450-470 range, Ivan Putski was over 500 and had a big squat and dead to boot, Arcidi hit over 700, Nick "the Bully" Busick had a big squat, deadlift and a bench close to 600, Rick McGraw hit around 450 in the bench, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka hit a 500 bench during a stint when he trained power (although he usually pumped with light weights), Rick Martel was good for 405, Dino Bravo was good for the mid-400's in the early eighties, Big John Stud was good for 450 in the bench(did no leg training), and Jamie Harris has hit way over 700 - He is not hearsay...............

If anybody needs any info on numbers these guys hit please e-mail me. The group I mentioned (plus several more) trained with me in Mike Katz's World Gym, Hamden, CT in the late seventies to mid-eighties (with the exception of Busick and Harris).

There are lots of strong wrestlers and lots of "appearance only" guys as well.

If interested, I will get around to scanning some photo's of these guys hitting some good weights. Took loads of photo's when we were hitting the circuit. "

I for one would LOVE to see old gym shots of Hawk, Animal and the like in the gym during their heyday!

Tony Atlas is still huge. Saw him a couple years ago and his arms were damn freaky.

I don't really bother wondering how strong any else is. But if I were to venture a guess I'd say no weaker than a bodybuilder they're size.
