When do you guys and gals perfer to workout in the morning or late afternoon? I am going to begin working out in the mornings 5:30am this is way before the lazy ass talkers show up and you can get in a better workout. As the great Arnold said "QUIET, This is not a coffee shop" | ||

Morning is best for cardio. Afternoon is best for lifting; your hormones are more condusive to stimulate growth factors. There is research to prove it. Morning for cardio. As said before studies show your body responds best in the afternoon to weight training or training of other kinds. The NCAA sports uses this study to prove its the best time for practice, even though they originally used that time for class convenience. I think you can find the study in the Harvard School of Medicine files. | ||

I like to work out within one hour upon rising. This way the workout is finished and your day can go on. If you wait until the evening, things can come up that are not under your control. Your workouts may suffer or shorten no matter how dedicated. Everyone is different physically and mentally. I train this way for time constraint reasons. | ||

I prefer to workout in the early afternoon around one or two p.m. I also like to run in the afternoon, after I have completed my weight workout. I know that most people would agree that running in the morning is best, but I have tried it with little success. Thats due to the fact that I'm not a morning person. I always feel weak and groggy-(?sp) until I eat breakfast. I will usually just lay around & eat off and on until I go to the gym. ------------------ |
