I am need of some extra calories now, but I have no logical place to add them to my existing menu and meal plan. I am considering waking up at around 2am for a shake. The reason I have never done this was to give my digestive system a rest, but right now I see no alternatives. Anyone have a meal prepared and wake up to down it in the middle of the night? I was thinking a quick digesting shake...Wake up, down it, crawl back into bed. Anyone do this? ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Ya its very common. It very important that we have plenty of protien in our system at night. I always wake up and drink a shake, right after I take a leak. lol!! We all know that this is the time to grow when we are sleeping. And if your getting the propper amount of sleep, which I never can, and you don't add protien in the middle of your sleep than you will most likely be protien deficient in the morning. You want all those hours of sleep to count. Thats my $.02 Drink the shake even if you have to set your alarm. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Multiple times a night evry night since I wake up unfortunately nearly every hour. Used to wake myself up once a night during heavy cycles to stay highly anabolic, now I wake up so many times I just throw down some protein and a little carbs on my way to the head...nocturnal feeding inhibits the body's natural morning cortisol rush and allows one to space caloric intake out even further. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

i have eaten many of times in the middle of the night i love to eat a can of tuna fish when i get up to take a leak an easy 35 grams of protein wash it down with a protein shake or glass of milk. train,eat,sleep ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

an alternative to waking up at night is to eat an entire container of fat free cottage cheese. probably would be almost as effective without disturbing sleep. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

When I'm in the middle of a cycle, I normally wake up in the middle of the night anyway, hungry as hell. Its almost like my stomach hurts because I am so hungry. I think that really has helped me grow alot in the past, too. Those extra calories really help. Think about it, if you don't eat in the middle of the night. Thats like, 6-8 hours of taking in no nutrients. Not for me, guys. Go ahead, if you want to grow, eat eat eat. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Im with most of the bros. I get up to piss aroud 2:30 like clockwork, and just slam a shake on my way to and from the pisser. I bought a box of canned shakes so I dont have to fire up the blender for a myoplex. ------------------ ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

Between 2-4am most nights will have a bowl of cereal, a shake or a large bowl of ice cream. Hell if lee priest can look like he does and put on 70+lbs during off season and eat 36 donuts in one sitting, then there has to be a lot to be said about the quantity(not necessarily the quality) of calories needed for growth. Its damn hard to get the body to grow and probably the single most neglected factor is quantity of calories. I eat plenty I grow. If your not growing and doing everything else right look at the diet. Youll burn A LOT while on so you have to pack them in and night trough visits are great for this. ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

man when i wake up in the night it is bad a eat anything in site a jar of cookies ,bread,meat,fruit,dogs,cats,small kids ,what ever is in my way i eat.My girlfriend will hide sweets from me so i dont eat it all . i dont try 2 wake up at night 2 eat .it just happens i even eat a big meal before bed..........waterboy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||
