Those big guys are the strongest mofos by far. Just look at those world's strongest man contests. Not for me though. I just want to be large and cut, not a mamoth beast.

I powerlifted in high school and won state....but the body can't take that kind of abuse unless you are one of "A FEW GOOD MEN"....KAZ himself lives in my town and he is still quite impressive to be "out of competition"....QUAD

That's all great and everything, but in the world of elite powerlifting, he is nothing special.

Ted Arcidi benched 750 at a bodyweight of under 300

Anthony Clark has a 800 lb reverse grip bench.

Ed Coan has totaled 2,402 at a bodyweight of 219.

So in the grand scheme of things, competition wise, he has alot of work ahead of him if he wants to make history.

bchemist, I have to take exception to that. I am aware of all of those records (wasnt aware of the Arcidi) but history HAS been made by this man with his 2,500 total. Eddy Coan beats him by bodyweight of course but the race was to 2,500 and Frank is there. He will do 2,600 real soon as his bench was off by 50 or so at ths meet...but to say he is "nothing special" - come on...

This is not really my bag of beans guy's but my question is this....Didn't Arcedi do it with out a bench shirt???? Gary has one on correct......does this shirt really make a big difference??????

I know anthony Clark wore one on the reverse....Do you guy's remember Tony Atlas from the WWf I seen him put up 500 for 10 reps a little closer than shoulder width apart.....

Now that to me is impressive....

Actually he is great pound for pound. You have to keep in mind the handicaps in powerlifting. If your under 165 you get a real good break, also the same if your over 275lbs. But he has beat out 220lbers who have totaled 2000 or more which is the same as 165 lber totaling 1700. His best bench though is 710 or so i am not mistaken. He can pull almost 900lbs. None of the record holders above (exception of the greatest Ed Coan) can do that.

Those are some sick numbers, and yes a bench shirt makes an incredible difference. Especially in powerlifting where you have to control the weight on the way down pause and wait for clap before returning the weight on the way up and both arms must be even without any pauses on the way up. The shirt helps in many ways. . .it keeps your lats compressed in the help the push, it keeps your tri's tight to help push the weight and forces you to maximize the physics behind your pec pushing up as there is no where else to move your arms. . .it can add an easy 50 pounds to a one rep max, depending on the fit and technique perhaps more.

yeah, he does have some big ass wrists, Ill ask him what they measure. No normal man can hold 700 pounds on their wrists...

the new denim and double denim shirts can add up to 100 pounds to your max if you utilize them 100%. $200+ as well...they all wear them now though...
