Zen or iPod Mini?

MikeMartial

So, time to upgrade. My Sony mini diskman is out the door.

I've decided it's either going to be:

1) Creative Zen 5GB @ approx 300 bucks (CAD)

or

2) Apple iPod Mini 4GB @ approx 250 bucks (CAD)

Opinions? Experiences?

I have the ipod mini and I love it so far... I haven't seen/tried the Creative Zen one, so I can't really compare the two. I'm sure both are good... Try looking up reviews on epinion.com and amazon.com - they usually have a lot of honest reviews. :)

You mean Zen Micro ?

It has a FM radio tuner that the iPod doesn't have

Update

Ended up buying the Creative Zen Micro

It seems like the iPod has more "add on" options, but all of the reviews i read on the creative were excellent. I'm sure I would have been happy with the iPod also.

The Zen won out mainly because of the FM tuner. There's times I just don't want to listen to pre-programmed tunes.

The only bad thing I'll say about the Zen so far is that I had to set the sensitivity level on the scroll pad at the lowest setting. No biggy.

Damn fine lil' piece o' hardware. Now all I have to do is fill up the 5 GB

Cool. Enjoy. :)

my advice, treat yourself to a new mobile phone... pretty much all new models have expandable memory and pretty much all memory mediums are up to 2 gigs in size now... so I essentially have a mini ipod built in to my treo phone, yes it has a stereo headphone out as well. There isn't much it can't do.

I agree with buying the unit with an FM tuner. That will definately push my desicion when I finally buy one
