Your perception of Big??

OK,
I have to admit this is kind of a branch off of the muscle dismorhpia thread... but anyways, I spend a lot of time thinking about this for some reason and I wanted to get other peoples opinions on what they thought, and kind of trying to figure out where i might be sitting. Nobody can be right or wrong in their perception, but I'd like to get an average per say.

1. What do you consider below average size measurements for
a.Arms
b.Chest
c.Thighs

2. What do you consider average size measurements for
a.Arms
b.Chest
c.Thighs

3. What do you consider above average size measurements for
a.Arms
b.Chest
c.Thighs

4.What do you consider monsterous measurements?
a.Arms
b.Chest
c.Thighs

Thanks for all the input!

depends on height, bodyfat, etc. on a 6 foot person i'd have it like this:

monsterous measurements:

chest: 50+
arms:20+
quads: 32+

it all depends on your frame.

i would say there is no definitive number since its all a matter of perception and illusion. (for bb purposes)

my definition of big is "that place im always trying to get to".

Its too relative like jeremys said.

At 6'2", I could have 20" arms and they'd look smaller than the 19" arms of a 5'9" guy.

Also, everyone has their own ideal. Asthetically I want to look more powerful than big. I think the big-ass, smooth, gym rat guys look like shit, but the big boulder shouldered lifters that are simply intimidating look great to me. You actually feel them walk by you.

A lot of bodybuilders simply look incapable of anything to me. But there is a certain build that signifies function. Sort of like the old-school lifters(Arnold) compared to todays(Yates). Arnold would intimidate me, but Dorian would just make me laugh.

I am going to base my response on an average male of 5'10":

These are measurements I would consider big, not huge, but a fairly big guy.

Weight - 210+
Arms - 18"+
Chest - 48"+
Thighs - 30"+

Of course someone's impression of big is relevant to how big the person giving the opinion is.

Size is almost irrelavent to me since I hold strength as a true messure of developement. And I mean all around strength, not just one dimensional, like solely on bench. I usually take their lift's in proportion with their weight and size. But on average I feel at 5'8 (this is really the only height I can judge at since this is my own height) you should have 16inch arms 28 inch legs 18 inch neck, 16-18 inch calves 30-33 inch waist and a 46+chest....

Thaibox is right though when i see a a really massive bodybuilder I have to laugh inside since I know they can't realy move, then again I train for power, aethetic appeal and fighting...
