Your favorite drummers and drum performances.

I definitely know everyone that has been posted.

Carter Beauford from Dave Matthews band is awesome.

Keith Moon from Tho Who.

Mike Portnoy from Dream Theatre. I have a DT album in my car right now.

Danny Carey and Bozzio.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned John Bonham or Buddy Rich yet...

Woody, be honest: Do you actually like this type of music?

IMO, It's absolutely terrible.

Honestly, anybody with a bit of skill can pull that off. He didn't play any rudiment besides a single stroke, which really isn't rudimental if you ask me. There was nothing technical or impressive about what he played at all.

I like metal. I didn't watch that video. The link changed on me, so I posted the correct video on in another post. I meant to post Max from Krisiun.

Post up a video of you playing if you think you can do any better.

Buddy Rich is my vote for best ever. Just insane even at an old age

Neil Peart is a legend in my mind...Rush is one of my all time favorite bands...but this guy here from Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy is an excellent percussionist!!!

There's no denying his skill, but Portnoy is much better at his composition in his music than his solos. His music is very well thought out and constructed, and damn hard to play. His solos leave something to be desired, only because of him being a top notch musician.

The way he applies rhythm and technical rudiments in odd time signatures is very impressive. His solo work is a bit daft in contrast to his music. That's just my opinion.

Watch him play Dance of Eternity and then you'll know what I mean.

Hey, if that's what you like then that's cool. Everybody has their own flavour of music.

The reason I don't like that type of music because there's nothing emotionally stimulating about it to me in a positive way. In fact, it makes me feel like shit just listening to it. I find that there is no distinguishable melody and the lyrics are typically very negative. I have no base to find anything good to take from it. It's completely foreign to me.

I've been meaning to film a lot of videos. I just bought a sleek new video camera for that very reason (Youtube Channel), so when I get a chance, I'll do some videos and post em up.
