Your all time favorite wrestler !

For whatever damn reason, just name the best according to you. I'll say Coco Beware (for being a clown basically) and Hulk Hogan (back in the 80's).

Ultimate Warrior before he totally lossed his mind and started that one warrior nation bullshit in wcw.

Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. As a kid, I thought he was the best. He was the first wrestler to jump from the top rope and the top of the cage. He also was big as fuck. He had Zero mic skills, but he spoke more with his in ring work.

Av, he is a great choice. Michaels still brings his A game to the ring every time out. When you watch a pay per view where Michaels is in the main event, you know you will be entertained.

Ricky The dragon Steamboat was the shit when I was young. I loved his arm take-downs.

It is funny how when we were kids, a simple arm bar take down would thrill us. Now the guys have to be thrown off a 20 foot cage or through a table for anyone to get excited. I thought Steamboat vs Savage matches were absolute classics, but if some of the matches they had were shown today, the majority of people would think they were boring.

Singles Wrestlers - Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes followed closely by Nikita Kolov. (Goldberg is a Nikita ripoff and not nearly as talented)
Tag Team - The Road Warriors

Mine was always The Macho Man Randy Savage. He was a great bad guy who you could live vicariously through. I always seem to like rooting for a wrestler when he's a bad guy more so then when he becomes a good guy.

stone cold

Single wrestler, Macho Man Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior
Tag team duo, the Bushwackers and the Conquistadors.

Someone hasn't watched Benoit,Liger,Dynamite Kid, Guerrero if they think Shawn Michaels is the best ever. Michaels is overrated compared to the aforementioned names above. Besides Benoit has already proven Michaels wrong!

Me my favorite wrestler is Bret "The Hitman" Hart and my top 10 wrestlers are in my opinoin are

1.Bret Hart
2."Stone Cold" Steve Austin
3.Hulk Hogan
4.John Cena
5.Undertaker
6.Sting
7.Shawn Micheals
8.Sabu
9.Mick Foley
10.Ricky Steamboat, Kevin Nash or Ultimate Warrior

...and Triple H doesn't make the list? He should be easily 2 or 3

Triple H is definitely my favorite of the last 5 years. He respects the history of the sport, and he's without a doubt one of the toughest, and most durable athletes to ever lace his boots. The biggest reason he's The Game is that he's not afraid to put make other wrestlers look good even at his own expense. Recently he has jobbed to Shelton Benjamin to help put him over with the crowd. He doesn't let his ego get in the way of furthering the betterment of the sport.

He will also be remembered as the guy who lost to the BROOKLYN BRAWLER.

Seriously, it's not hard to be the #1 guy when your boinking the boss's daughter. If you really think he's been on top all these years is because he's good, well you're only kidding yourself.

You guys remember the British Bulldogs? How about George the Animal Steel and Brutus the Barbor Beafcake...

The good ole days.

My all-time favorite wrestler would have to be Jake "The Snake" Roberts. He didn't have the best body by no means, but the man could capture your imagination through the television. I remember turning on the TV just to see him. He was good as a babyface, but when Jake was a heel, he was classic!!! In my opinion, nobody in the WWF at the time was as over or as hated as Jake, during his "heel" era. I would have to say that my number 2 favorite wrestler would have to be "Ravishing" Rick Rude. From his physical presence to his in-ring work to his promos, the name "Ravishing" Rick Rude says it all.....'nuff said.

I have to say Hulk Hogan.

I like to note Hacksaw Jim Dugan HOOOOOOO

The wrestlers that would make me laugh the most were the Superheavy Weights when they would bring that scale out and the commentator would always say some rediculous weight like "with a combined weight of over 800lbs".

I have three all time favorites,Kerry von Erik, ultimate warrior, and I used to like Tony Atlas alot too,Kerry and Tony were huge,I think Tony had 24 inch biceps.

ravishing rick rude was the man

Seeing as I'm British, I'm gonna have to go with a Brit in England's best wrestling company, the FWA: Paul Birchall. He's coming to WWE soon, and if you see him, you'll be amazed. I mean, he's fucking 6 feet four, 275 pounds, and he can do a standing shooting star press. Fucking hell.

Single: The Great Muta
Tag Team: British Bulldogs

Going way back, Baron Von Raschke. THE bad guy of his time. Doing the goosestep and using the CLAW.

Tag team. Road Warriors. Hands Down.

You know when I first saw this wrestling forum, I was like these guys are gonna know alot of shit about wrestling. I WAS WRONG. The greatest wrestler of all time, without a doubt, THE KISS STEALING, WHEELING DEALING, JET FLYING, LIMOSINE RIDEING, KISS THE GIRLS WHOOOOOOO AND KEEPEM CRYING. Thats right Space Mountain himself. Everyone else is a spin off of him in someway. Learn to love it, cause it's the best thing going to-day.

Nobody mentioned the best "worst" wrestler ever in the game. IRON MIKE SHARP!!! The guy was such a workhorse and got his ass kicked every night, but he had a great act. He would always flip off the crowd and mess with them. True wrestler. Poor guy is probably scooping horse shit in a stable somewhere.

As a kid I liked Hulk Hogan...
to this day I still respect "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair (mostly his NWA days though and all that bleeding)...
hmmmm, don't have a fav, but I respect these two...
then I have a list of others I like.

Some of the newer guys are good, but I liked them more when they weren't in the WWE...
talking Stampede Wrestling, AWA, NWA, WCW, ECW...

*P.S. Agree w/ toxicsambo...Iron Mike worked his ass off and got no recogniton whatsoever...

Tough call but I have to go with Les Kellet.

For tag-team, I'd choose Steve Logan and Mick McManus.

Bret Hart is the greatest wrestler of all time. Watch some of his matches with Owen, Bulldog, Austin, Benoit, Undertaker, Diesel, HBK, Mr. Perfect, etc. He gave each of them arguably the best match of their careers. He could have a great match with ANYONE - from HBK to Yokozuna. Kurt Angle, Undertaker, and HBK (even though he is a selfish, balding, chicken sh*t liar who screwed Bret) are honorable mentions.

Andre the giant, after I read the greatest drunkard sticky earlier!!! Roddy Piper has always been one of my favorites too. No one ever knew what he was gonna come up with. I hear HHH is the plague of wrestling now since he makes all of the decisions. Jake the snake was good. Has anyone ever seen his bio though? That guy has had it tough!!!

gotta go with Batista....just the ability and pure athleticism and the POWER he has is insane. Can flip out on the flip of a switch.

Man.. I like all the wrestlers from the pre-WWF era - old school stuff.

the Funk Brothers
Von Erik's
Ted Debiousie
Rick Flair - nature boy - whoaa
Super Destroyer
Big Dick Murdoch

oh.. the days.

dude he is the best!!! mind lost or not lol!!!!

wow, this thread goes back.

Anyway, Don Muraco was my favorite back in the day when I watched it. Don't know why.

My favorite of all time was Paul "Mr. Wonderful" Orndorf. I love the way he would totally freak out in the ring.
Roddy Piper would be a close second, when he was a bad guy though.

Pedro Morales- Morales was the first man in wrestling history to win all three major men's titles in the World Wrestling Federation: the WWWF Heavyweight Championship, the Intercontinental Championship and the WWF World Tag Team Championship

Wow 2004, this one does go back hell I gotta go with the hitman though. As far as charisma you would have to say the Rock.

Tons of great memories being brought up in this thread!! (I grew up watching 80's WWF obsessively as a kid)

I really cannot pick just one guy! That is totally impossible for me! haha.

I can throw out a bunch of names that left an impression on me and stir up some old memories for you guys!

KING KONG BUNDY: This guy was a very scary villain! They built up that feud with Hogan for Wrestlemania 2 perfectly... Anyone remember when Murraco fought Hogan on Saturday Night's Main Event and Bundy ambushed and hospitalized Hogan at the end of the match?

KAMALA the UGANDAN HEADHUNTER: Another scary guy when he first debuted. His splash off the top rope was considered groundbreaking since he was over 400 pounds... (First 400 pounder I ever saw going off the TOP ROPE! That was something else at the time!!!)

HAKU/King Tonga was badass.....

Very pleased someone mentioned "Canada's greatest Athlete" Iron Mike Sharpe.... He was entertaining as hell!!!! I'll add a few guys just like him to this list as well: TIGER CHUNG LEE, TERRY GIBS, SD JONES (At least SD had an action doll made after him! haha)

The tag teams in the 80s were stacked!!! British Bulldogs, The Dream Team (Valentine & Beefcake), The Hart Foundation, The Sheik & Volkoff, The Killer Bees, The Funk Brothers, Demolition, Strike Force, the list goes on and on!!!!

Let's not forget how many GREAT managers they had too back then!!! Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Slick, "Luscious" Johnny Valiant, "Classy" Freddy Blassy, and "Captain" Lou Albano.....

Great memories....

It seems like the older wrestlers put a lot more on the line than the newer ones do. Mick Foley put everything humanly possible into his work, he's taken an ungodly amount of pain and worked through it all. Terry Funk was good too, as with anyone in hardcore matches back in the day. Wrestlers now don't do near as much as those guys did!!

The Funk Brothers were from my home town. Due to that, a lot of the old time wrestlers lived and worked there. Terry Funk Sr and Iron Mike Debiousy were best friends. When Iron Mike died, the Funk's raised Ted D.

Dick Murdock lived there too. Had a restaraunt called Big Dick's Dive. Good times.

Damn I never realized the Funks raised the million dollar man!!! Those guys really were hardcore, barbwire matches and all.

Thread is kinda old, but thought I'd hit it up anyways.

Greatest of all time, without a doubt, is Ric Flair. To be able to perform still, at his age with the medical history he has, is just amazing. Even at his most hated, he was still the bad guy that everyone still liked. He put multitudes of other wrestlers over and many owe their sucess to him. Great ring tactician, could handle the mic, could manipulate the crowd, had the look, all around complete package.

A close second is Dusty Rhodes. Probably the greatest with the mic. Didn't have the look or the body, but found his niche and made it work.

Tag-team - Hands down, the Road Warriors. Had the physique, booming ring entrance, persona, in-ring ability, and great interview skills (Hawk was great), and longevity(uncommon for tag-teams). Were so popular that when the NWA attempted to turn them heel by having them turn on Dusty Rhodes, they still got cheered.
