you know the ends of an olympic bar....

i got an old olympic bar, got olympic bar ends and screwed them on, with 2 washers on either side of the bar holding them in place

the washers are the same width/diameter as the olympic bar ends and are 1mm thick, with 2 on either side of the bar (4 in total)

does this sound safe enough for the bar? all the other bars ive used have this screw with a large head/nut which is large enough to affix the bar end, but i couldnt find one for this......this sound good enough to hold?

if it is i just got an olympic bar for peanuts :)

With the kind of weights you been using lately, that should be no problem..... cough weakling

just do slow reps so you don't lose a toe.

Personally, I dont mind spending money on a good bar. I used to work out with $1400 Eleiko competition bars and we babied those. A bar has to be of the right tensile strength, and it has to spin freely inside the collars while maintaining that strength. OK I digress but my point is, dont bother with bars of uncertain quality they arent worth it.

So you took a threaded bolt and used it to fasten two big washers on each end of the olympic bar? As long as the bolts are good and tight, it sounds alright to me.

Casavant, you and C3Bodybuilding are probably the only people I respect enormously here.
