I'm about to start a new job and they require a drug test for me to work there. It's a pretty big company, a company everyone is familiar with. Do/would they test for steroids?

Most likely no.

When you say "most likely no" and "not likely" then what WOULD be a likely situation where they would want to test for roids?

I suspect they are all testing just enough to get better health benefits rates.
:worried: have you ever read or heard that somewhere? :worried:

Unless its then NSA or CIA then most likely "no".

what would be the reason for testing for steroids? steroid users are stronger, work harder and tend to come into work on a regular basis. its not like rec. drugs that may effect your work performance.

Highly, highly doubtful!! Its a very expensive test and would be a very bizarre requirement in corporate america.. Unless of course this big company plays in stadiums and arenas in front of sellout crowds. :chomp:

Usually no...but they can do a lie detector, which is a different story.

Hiring practices in the USA are subjective. If you fail a "did you use drugs" question, you probably wont be hired. You can take it to court, but you'd be foolish to waste the $ on it.

What if I did do drugs back when I was under 18..would that affect my status?

High level positions.. COmpany wants to make sure you left other jobs for right reasons. Make sure you are not a thief. If a company is going to pay you 500K+ a year, expect a lie detector, they are putting a large investment in you.
