The request to add women's boxing to the 2008 Olympics was denied. What's the deal with this? Is it a form of discrimination against women since women already fight all around the world?

I think some men have a thing against meeting women who could kick their arse.
Personally, I think women, when provided with proper training and adequate experience, can match and exceed a man's performance. No study in the world shows that men are better than women in sports. Stronger? Yes. Better? No.

You shouldn't automatically assume the reason for denial is gender. There might be other factors. Lack of popularity and world wide participation first comes to mind.
