Will mankind ever live a very long time again?

It has been observed that back in the bibilcal days man has indeed lived very long. Take Noah & Adam & eve. They lived to be 800 yrs. old. Even Madulsa lived a very long time. I know most of you wouldn't want to live that long tho.

No one ever lived 800 years.

And who is Madulsa? Not sure if you mean Methuselah, Madusa, or Tulsa...

I think he meant Methuselah in the context of his thread. But Coldblue doesdn't realize that it was common of cultures in the 1500 BCE times to artificially inflate the ages of people to show thier importance and superiority over other individuals. The Hindus and Sumerians also did this in thier writings.

Ummm...don't you that anything written in the bible is 100% irrefutable fact! :sigh:

Well, Genesis is taken as the first book of the Bible, however it wasn't written down until after Kings and Psalms. Most of the early history of Judaism was recited in Oral Tradition by wandering muses who would tell thier tales in trade for meals. It wasn't until after the time of Moses that the Hebrews settled and began cataloging and scribing thier history.

To take the Genesis story as literal or a lot of the Bible for that matter can be likened to taking the collective works of the Brothers Grimm as literal. "Jonah and the Whale" and other stories are also fanciful and meant for the campfire.

Listen..quit trying to confuse people with generally accepted facts...errrr..."The devil's lies." The bible is the literal inspired word of God!

Is data loss in cell division the biggest culprit, or is it oxides damaging nucleal tissue?

Lot of research on telomerase where there is a maximum number of cell divisions. I havent read much up on that research to extend the number of cell divisions research with that in several years, but that was an interesting discussion on life extension

If you listen real close to The Beatles' song "Come Together", John Lennon is saying "shoot me" over and over.

hmmm. playing the record backwards huh?

Not backwards, just listen to it normally. That's what he's really saying in that whispered part at the beginning.
