this is purely anecdotal, but i'm on TKD, and instead of eating pre/post workout carbs, i chew packs of sweet tarts during my workout. I get about 26 grams dextrose/maltodextrose spread throughout the workout. It gives me just enough energy to hammer out the next set. But i imagine if you were on a break and decided to take a ton of it at once then you would get hypoglycemic since i did that once and i started getting cold sweats and a faint feeling.
