I read this on another board and immediately everyone started cracking jokes about dumb rednecks riding their horses to school, ect.
Are you people aware that major cities like San Antonio are 73% hispanic??
And pretty much every town south of that is 90% +
Houston is over 50% minority, with 30% being African American.
Dallas has more Hispanics than whites in the city limits.
dropout rates*:
Hispanic students-8.1%
Black, non-Hispanic-7.0%
White, non-Hispanic students-3.9%.
When I was a freshmen in High school we had 1200 freshmen, half hispanic, I graduated with 650, most of the hispanics had dropped out
Most of these kids could give a rats ass about their education, most can't speak English so they take the easiest classes imaginable called {ESL}. still most don't even jump at this free pass at a diploma, they still drop out.
So please, when making fun of Texas and "dumb rednecks", please remember the demographics of our state.
